Got any tips to help with an excruciatingly severe AI chatbot addiction?
Well, I’ve never had an ai addiction personally, but I’ll try my best to help. I’ve tried to look at some things from people who are in a similar boat as you so maybe I’ll be a little more helpful. Something I saw that seems like a good idea: do some soul searching and figure out why you’re using the chatbot in the first place? Then, it’s easier to figure out how to replace it.
If it’s loneliness, I say maybe go to some coffee shops, the gym, the library or whatever other public places you can think of. Where I live there’s a place where you can go and play card and board games, with strangers or people you know, for free so look and see if you have anywhere like that near you. If you’re a student I suggest joking some extra curriculars like clubs or sports. Even looking up advice for lonely people might help.
if it’s boredom, try and remember what hobbies you had before your addiction. Reading, writing, and drawing are all basic and decently accessible hobbies. Don’t be afraid to try niche ones either though! No matter how weird it is, it’s probably better than talking to a chatbot. Even watching tv or something is probably better for you.
if it’s a sexual thing, I’m sure you can find some fanfics, smut, and self insert stuff on ao3 or wattpad that you enjoy. I’d say avoid video porn for now though because that can become an addiction, and it’s not good to replace one addiction with another
Idk what other reasons there could be, but if you figure it out and it’s not one I mentioned here and you need help, feel free to send another ask! As for other advice, delete all your accounts and don’t feel bad for taking baby steps. Trying to limit yourself each day until you make it to 0 is much better than going straight to 0 and struggling then relapsing. You are definitely not alone in this, so don’t forget that there are others going through similar things. Never be scared to reach out to people, like you’ve done with me. Idk how much this will actually help, but either way you have someone to talk to if you need me :)

I think for Shihai Liao, a cool name might be
Aiguo, which means patriotic, because of his military background
Xioabo, which means fighter, also because of his military background
Mencius, which means power and is great if he is an oldest son
Dingbang, which means someone who is willing to protect his nation
I tried to look for Chinese names because I saw that his birthplace was unknown but possibly China.
For Rin Dalhyeon you could do
Da-Hyun, which means courageous and compassionate, because those are two traits I saw she had
Hwa-Jeong, which means emotional but strong, also two traits she has
Seo-Hyun, which means innocent, because you mentioned she was rather innocent
Ye-Rim, which means pretty flower bud, because you said she matures later and this name can be a way to show that she will blossom from a bud to a beautiful flower
For her, I looked at Korean names because that’s where I saw she was born. I’m not really sure about last names or if you will like these names, but you could possibly find a community here on tumblr that helps with naming. I hope these names at least cause your creativity to start flowing and if anyone else has any suggestions, please share them!

Pei Chi（佩持)— Impressive and Lasting, I believe.(pei is impressive(same pronunciation as pair) and Chi is lasting)

I don’t think you have to delete Mary Sue if you want to keep her. If you want to delete her because you don’t want her to be ai that’s ok to. You can continue to work on her without ai or start over without ai, but you can also create a completely new oc without AI as well. Whatever you do, I personally believe it will be more fulfilling to do it without ai (especially if it’s art related!!). The more your art comes from you, the more special to you it will be. If you need ideas for your oc, talk people instead of using ai. You can get inspiration from friends, family, and people online who like to make ocs. Even if you think your creation is bad, it will have more heart than any ai creation could ever dream of. I hope this helped you and if you have other questions or more to add to this one, don’t be afraid to ask. I can’t promise my answers are perfect, but I can promise they will come from a place of caring and (at least attempted) understanding <3

I see a lot of posts about how lazy or meaningless having a Clippy pfp or boycotting youtube is, so I would like to mention a few things: DO MORE THAN CHANGE YOUR PFP!!! Sure that’s a start, but don’t stop there! Give youtube bad reviews about the ai stuff, tell people who can make a bigger impact than you (your favorite creators, adults if you’re a minor, etc.), and email or physically mail things to youtube and google.
On another note, I’ve also seen people complain that nobody cared about the evil things google has been doing (specifically involving Gaza and things like that) but suddenly care when something like the ai stuff happens. What I have to say about that is: yeah, it is pretty shitty that it took something that directly affects someone for them to care, but that’s unfortunately how a lot of people are (NOT SAYING THAT ITS OK, JUST SAYING ITS COMMON). Also some people, like me, may not have been aware of how bad google’s actions have been. I’m still not saying that it makes it ok, we can all do better in educating ourselves, but it is simply another possibility. TLDR: be the ACT in ACTivist and try care about things even if they don't affect you. Do the best you can and understand that others bests look different <3
