Why am I suddenly seeing Clippy profile pics everywhere? Did he die, and we're memorializing him?
I see a lot of posts about how lazy or meaningless having a Clippy pfp or boycotting youtube is, so I would like to mention a few things: DO MORE THAN CHANGE YOUR PFP!!! Sure that’s a start, but don’t stop there! Give youtube bad reviews about the ai stuff, tell people who can make a bigger impact than you (your favorite creators, adults if you’re a minor, etc.), and email or physically mail things to youtube and google.
On another note, I’ve also seen people complain that nobody cared about the evil things google has been doing (specifically involving Gaza and things like that) but suddenly care when something like the ai stuff happens. What I have to say about that is: yeah, it is pretty shitty that it took something that directly affects someone for them to care, but that’s unfortunately how a lot of people are (NOT SAYING THAT ITS OK, JUST SAYING ITS COMMON). Also some people, like me, may not have been aware of how bad google’s actions have been. I’m still not saying that it makes it ok, we can all do better in educating ourselves, but it is simply another possibility. TLDR: be the ACT in ACTivist and try care about things even if they don't affect you. Do the best you can and understand that others bests look different <3

It’s a little grainy blown up this big but on a smaller scale like your pfp it should be fine. Also if you want the one where Clippy’s on the little paper then I could probably find it but as of right now I don’t have a transparent background of that
DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE YOUTUBE BOYCOTT
You do not have to completely give up youtube! You just have to do what you can. Just because someone does great without any youtube at all doesn’t mean that what you have to do as well. Cut down, use an ad blocker, or watch through another app/website like listen on repeat. Hell, even just spread the word!
Plus, you don’t have to quit cold turkey! You can ween off slowly, or quickly (what ever’s best for you)
I know we’re already over a month in, but it’s never too late and I know people who have not boycotted because they were too intimidated and thought it was all or nothing. So, I just wanted to make this post to let anyone on the fence know that they have options :)
