I think gender is such an odd thing

Since the day a person is born, they are immediately seen as a girl or a boy based on their sex, which is based on which parts they do or don’t have at birth

And then they’re raised based on that, and that alone. Girls like pink and “girly” things, boys like blue and “boyish” things

They will always. ALWAYS. Put people in boxes. Not for you, but for them. There is always going to be someone breathing down your neck, trying to make you be what will make THEM comfortable

I was born a female, and raised a girl. Well, I’m older now. I don’t have to put myself in anyones box to make them comfortable. I will call myself whatever I want, because it makes ME comfortable

The amount of times I have been asked, “What’s in your pants?” “Are you a girl or a boy?” “What were you born as?” “Are you trans?” is outrageous. I do not owe anyone that answer. Especially since I don’t even have an answer, I am me and that’s all that should matter

What’s in my pants does not matter

What I was born as does not matter

Why should it matter to anyone? We’re all people. We’re all going to die someday. Why would you be friends with or date someone based on what they do or don’t identify as?

I spent so long trying to put a label on my gender or sexuality, just to realize that if someone really TRULY wants me, it won’t matter. And if I really love someone, what they identify as won’t matter to me either

Gender is a concept that has been shoved in our brains since birth. And some people may not fully grasp it, but you don’t have to be anything. You can be whatever you want

This post is ranting from PERSONAL experience, and my own personal opinions. This is not at all saying people can’t be comfortable in their gender. I’m happy for you if you are comfortable in your gender, that’s exactly why I made this

You should be doing what makes YOU comfortable. And what makes me comfortable, might make others UNcomfortable because I am gender-nonconforming. I don’t put myself in a box because it makes me comfortable

The old one kept bothering me every time I see it cause not only does it look pretty bad (but it's okay it was my first or second time drawing them) but also that back then I didn't really have a hc, I just went with whatever was most popular and now it just looks wrong to me 😭
