There was so much that Cam could have said when Clementine mentioned the late night stream. It wasn’t the first time she had used this excuse and he was sure that it wouldn’t be the last. She was dedicated to her job, just like he was dedicated to his school work and his future career and with that sometimes came sacrifices. He just hoped that hers wouldn’t result in her continuing to lose sleep. “I’m really not trying to be your dad, but you have to sleep, Clem. I will take some coffee though. I did want to mention that I like your hair today. It’s not my favorite, but still looks good on you.” To be fair, all colors looked great on Clem and Cam knew about the wig collection that she kept. However, his mother always taught him that he should give compliments to people when they weren’t expecting them as a surprise like that was sure to cheer up someone’s day. The talk about bits, however, still brought heat to his cheeks. “Look, I know we’ve talked about all different kind of stuff before, but my parents raised me to not stare at people when they are in… stages of undress. I’m just trying to respect your privacy, that’s all.” 

“If you were being my dad you wouldn’t be worrying about my sleep, so thank you for not being my dad and for worrying so much.” The world they lived in wasn’t always the most healthy. It was hard to get the right amount of sleep when your mind doesn’t really want that. Even if they weren’t doing streams, somehow there would be a way of staying up in the night. Going back into the room they made another cup for Cam. “Thank you! I think i’m going back to long pink hair, but until this stream is over it’s a black bob.” A smile formed on their lips as they sat down and settled into the couch. Handing him the coffee they then smirked at how their friends cheeks began to blush. “I have always respected that about you Cam. The fact that you are always asking for consent is very attractive. Explains why you so many suitors in line waiting to give Peppi a cuddle in my place.”

Kingsley was walking about different areas of Portland, taking in the sights and snapping pictures of landscapes and building murals. He was steadily backing up while holding up his phone to a mural in the King neighborhood when he bumped into another person and quickly stepped aside, “Oohp.. I’m so sorry–I was really impressed with this, so much so that I wasn’t looking at anything else, apparently,” he chuckled a little nervously, hoping that they weren’t too upset with him.

Clementine had been on a bit of sight-seeing walk early in the morning. With the sketchbook in hand there was a lot of more stopping than walking. By the time it came around noon it seemed they were still very close to where the walk started. It was clear that the two were not paying attention so both were at fault for the incident. Nodding their head and smiling “don’t worry I wasn’t paying much attention either.” Turning around to look at the mural it caused them to understand why it all happened. “Oh yes this is one of my favorites! Portland is full of so much amazing street art but the ones in King really can’t be beat. I think it has to do with the culture of the town. Do you live in this area?” 

Clem: We’re not watching Frozen again.

Mason: we’ve only seen it twice this week tho!!

Mason: ok what if i said i promise to let you pick the next movie?

Clem: I have been dancing around the house saying "do you wanna build a snowman?"

There were days that went by when Bowie was her happy little self, making life so much easier for TJ, who was still adjusting to life as a single parent. Then, there were other days when the baby was just cranky, and in constant need of her father. Today was one of those days. Which was understandable considering the nine month old was currently teething. TJ always tried his best to comfort his daughter, and to give her everything she needed to try and stop her from gums from hurting. The baby was chewing on a teething ring at the moment. It was way past the child’s bedtime, but she was refusing to go to sleep.

Luckily for TJ, he had someone over tonight that he knew could help him. “Alright, I think making her up a bottle will hopefully help her sleep. Could you hold her while I get that ready? Maybe you’ll have better luck putting her to sleep than I do.” the blond kissed his nine month old daughter on the head before handing the wide eyed baby over to Clem. Right now, Bowie was pretty content with the teething ring, but TJ didn’t want her staying up too late.

The two had only been friends for a little while, yet they were already on the fifth sleepover. Clementine was always willing to help out. Plus Bowie had gotten into their heart and it was hard not to stick around. TJ was one of those people that kept them grounded, at the same time also laughing so hard that drink came out of her nose. Taking Bowie into their arms and smiling at the fussy little blonde. “I will always be willing to hold this little one even when she is a fussy.” Looking at the little one she smiled. “Bowie I am so sorry about those teeth it’s really not fair you have to grow them just to lose them.” Clementine hated when people used weird voices with children. It felt like being talked down to and that was not how they wanted Bowie to view them. So often they had conversations with her that were clearly more understood by adults. 

“Alright so let’s get you in the a better sleeping position.” Placing the baby on her side and holding her close they began to sway softly. “Don’t worry Daddy is making you a bottle and soon you will be off into a wonderful dream land.” Spending time with TJ and Bowie had become part of their schedule. “I wonder what you dream about..” Clementine trailed off and then began to hum the song Play the Game by Queen. Smiling as Bowie just watched them with wide eyes that had tears from before sliding down her little cheeks. Clem moved the tears away and kept the pace of the sway noticing that it caused some calm. 

“—excused.” impossibly elegant, particularly in her current silk emerald dress and a handful of moonstone rings, Yen allows her delicate back to face whomever she addresses in a blatant show of aloofness or, more likely, boredom. She’s got a long, flowing, vintage skirt in her left hand— white silk and lace— and a cascade of dark curls dripping off her bare shoulders; it takes a moment, as the stranger speaks, and she listens, but she is soon turning around to better face whomever is asking for help— her interest immediately piqued. She cannot help but smile at the request— the irony of it, too, — recreating an outfit? child’s play. She had only spend the last two decades of her life doing just that, after all, right? “could I ever…” a tug at the corners of her mouth, ( a delicate, polite smile, ) and then she’s setting the skirt aside to fully devote her attention to the task at hand, ( ever the perfectionist in everything she does ) says, “Let me take a better look — shall I?” elegantly leaning in closer to examine the outfit on her phone, taking note of all its little, delicate details— textures and colors, included. “are we aiming for an exact recreation of it, or like— a similar vibe?” she could work with either concept, for sure.

Clementine watched the woman as if she was some goddess that appeared from the skies above. They had met many different types of people, but this was a personality only seen in movies. Coming back to earth in shock at how willing to help caused a smile to form on her face. “An exact recreation would be wonderful! I normally have to go with the similar vibe but this is such a beloved character, so I really want to get it right.” Excitement ran through their body at the idea of creating the perfect costume. “Thank you for helping me out. I’m Clementine it’s nice to meet you.” 

With the repeated instructions, Mason fell into a deep focus in attempts to not mess this up again. The milk was an easy enough switch but he forced himself to stop after the third espresso shot, “Listen I think it’s actually illegal to add more than three shots? I mean I can’t know for sure, but I don’t wanna risk that…” Mason said, “Almond milk is definitely legal so you have that at least.” Though he tried to tune out words that weren’t related to the coffee order, a little excited smile poked through the cracks at the words, “You a gamer? Seven hours is real intense, but yeah there isn’t enough caffeine for that, unless you drink energy drinks on top if that…but I really don’t recommend that though…personal experience says abort mission. Anywho, what do you play? Being a gamer must be really cool!”

He was right that they did ask for more espresso shots than normal. At first it was just hope that maybe there was something to get away with. While Clementine blabbed on it was obvious that the man could not be bothered with it. Then he perked up once the whole gaming thing was mentioned. Which was a normal reaction from most people. “Yeah I am a twitch streamer so I am used to the schedule, well only a little.” Looking down at the ice coffee made it obvious that they weren’t fully ready. “I have done that before and could’ve used that recommendation earlier.” They giggled before taking another sip of their coffee. “Right now i’m playing the new remastered Resident Evil 3. I love being a gamer and i’m really happy I can do it as a semi-career. Do you play any games? I could really use some more people in my life that do.” 

“Un jour je t'emmènerai dans ma ville natale pour que tu puisses voir la beauté en elle, même s'il y a tellement de tristesse.” (someday i will take you to my hometown so you can see the beauty in it, even if there is so much sadness.) “Quand je peux être sûr que mes deux parents sont morts.” (When I can be sure that both of my parents are dead.)  Rory murmured before smiling softly in satisfaction that the other liked that she had been compared to a bull, because it had been intended as a compliment after all. They were majestic creatures but so often misunderstood, which was how Rory felt about Clem since meeting them. People didn’t understand them and historically people would avoid what they didn’t understand, but that was their loss. As she would happily tell the other on repeat for the rest of time if that’s what was needed. “You can stay here forever if you want, I don’t have anywhere I want to go anyway.” She carried on brushing the colours across Clem’s back gently, moving on from the brown that was synonymous with the river she was recreating thanks to the clay in the soil, and moving onto various greens of the banks on either side instead. “I only tell you the truth, which is funny, because I am a menteur pathologique.” (pathological liar). Except the last two words were muttered under her breath as she almost inhaled them, pressing her lips together so hard they went white with the effort. She knew it was ironically true, but most people didn’t.

“Always, not just now.” Snorting loudly at the mention of her butt cheeks, leaning around to Clem’s face so she could swipe the paintbrush quickly across the tip of her nose with a gasp. “Si vilain! You are so naughty, talking about my butt cheeks.” She pretended to be shocked but there was a smirk lighting up her eyes even before the smile graced her lips, loving to tease the other, she was just too cute. Locking eyes with Clem’s as she wiggled her eyebrows naughtily. “You can paint anything you like on my butt cheeks any time you want.”

Rory often would start speaking french in a way that was different from the sweet nothings. It was normally when everything was much more settled and she was more into the painting. One day Clementine was going to ask about what was being spoken, but they could tell it was something important. The way that each word was said made them think it had to be about the past. Even if the two had not kept a lot of secrets, there were some things that hadn’t been talked about. Both of them had a complicated past which was most likely what bonded them together. “There is nowhere I need to be so i’m staying.” Listening to the woman speak she giggled. “Whatever you are I love it and I don’t care what it even means.” Truly Clem would care for Rory no matter what she was. It felt like she was a missing puzzle piece that not everyone finds for themselves. 

“Hey I can’t help it they are the cutest butt cheeks i’ve seen!” Scrunching their face and laughing at the naughty comment. “Well we both know I am naughty so i’m glad it is now a known fact.” Wriggling their eyebrow in return and giggled once more. “How are you so comfortable for me? I really will never get it.” 

CJ’s parents had always warned her that spending too much time playing video games would rot her brain, but she’s 30 (fuck) and no ooze has seeped out of her ears yet, so. She’ll happily continue her gaming obsession and purchase Portland TwitchCon tickets during pre-sale. Plus, since shedding the life of a semi-pro athlete, CJ finds herself with way too much extra time.

When she gets there — dressed in a cheesy Spider-man t-shirt tucked into her baby blue jeans — she splits her time evenly between hitting the Jenna Marbles meet-n-greet and some ASMR YouTuber from Sweden. 

As the convention starts to slow down, CJ opts outta the festivities for a breather. Sat on a bench with a slice of pizza and a Corona, she makes conversation with the person sitting on the other end. “That’s such a cute shade of pink,” CJ comments, waiting for the person, who ends up being a streamer Claire has definitely watched before, to turn around. “Oh shit,” she says surprised, breaking into a laugh. “I actually caught your live a few nights ago! Did you end up getting the Last of Us 2 yet? I’m a little scared to order.”

“My bad,” CJ excuses herself, both for the rudeness and practically waving her greasy pizza plate in her excitement. “My bad. I’m CJ, cool to meet you.” @clementinefletcher​ 

Clementine didn’t have a the biggest following on Twitch, but this year it was big enough for them to featured on panels. The whole day had been a whirlwind of emotions all of them good ones. Wearing a light pink wig with non-binary colored overalls, and a cropped white tee, they had dressed to try and represent who they are. A few people had even asked for photos which was something they never imagined would happen. When they had started this whole thing it was a way to cope with all the trauma. Now it had become something so much bigger and there was the worry of being a good person for people. 

After their last panel it was time for something to eat. When you eat no one ever really tries to chat, everyone is just in a rush for one thing, food. Grabbing an impossible burger with curly fries and a giant coke, they made their way to the nearest bench. Not even noticing someone there until they spoke up. Looking up Clementine smiled at the hair compliment. This then turned into them blushing and giggling like a total fool. Nodding their head at the question. “Yes I did get it and thank you so much for watching me.” Despite being very outgoing on camera it wasn’t that way when in person. It didn’t help that the woman before them was very attractive. 

“No worries! It’s nice to meet you CJ. Were you able to play it yet? The amount of content with Ellie loving a lady had me in tears. Well the whole game had me in tears.” That whole night they had just sat with tissues both happy yet sad the game was being played. 

Cam had been over to Clem’s place more times than he could count, so it was for the continuation of the joke that Cam walked in one hand covering his eyes and the other out in front of him like Frankenstein. Maybe it was true that the elimination of one sense, his eye sight in this case, meant that his other senses were stronger as he could already hear Pepperoni’s meows without having to see her. He could then feel her, brushing up against his legs like she hadn’t just escaped from his place. “Alright, alright, alright,” he muttered under his breath as he leaned down and picked up the ginger tabby cat. 

Once he was given the go ahead, Cam removed his hand from his eyes, blinking a few times to get adjusted to the light. “Now before you say anything, a quick reminder that I’m a great cat dad. Pepperoni is just an escape artist who was reincarnated into a cat.” That was what Cam had to tell himself in order to reconcile his cat’s desires to find a way out of his apartment and into Clem’s. Really, he knew it was because Pepperoni had figured out that the automatic cat feeder only fed her twice a day and that Clem’s place was practically a buffet compared to that. Still, it still provided countless opportunities to see his best friend, though who would have thought they would have started bonding over his cat. “Did you stay up too late last night again? Sleeping until 2 pm can’t be all that good for your health.” 

“I know she is fine, really she only wanted cuddles and not as many snacks as before.” Sure Peppi came around when she wanted food, but stayed for the cuddles that don’t often happy at that time of day. Clementine had a crazy sleep schedule, streaming had to be done for a certain amount of time. So last night they ended up staying up late playing Resident Evil 3 remastered. The black short wig still perfectly placed on their head. “It was a late night stream. You know how sometimes I just get so into the game that I can’t stop!” Letting out a yawn they made way into the kitchen to fix up a cold brew. As they rubbed their eyes and got out oat milk they turned. “Do you want any coffee?” 

“That’s why I was well, naked cause the outfit was annoying and I was really tired.” The kitchen was close to the living room. It was what they loved most about the place, everything was on one floor. Each room was connected in some way that made it easier for them to just swing in from the doorframe. Which is exactly what they did so that their face was more visible. “I forgot that you were so sensitive to my bits.” They giggled while sipping on the iced coffee. 

Liv had been skimming through the racks, she wasn’t usually a thrift store kind of girl but she knew people found some neat things here at times. Right now she was at a loss, she sucks at searching for things- she needs instagratification. Honestly the girl hated shopping, she was about ready to give up and head out when the stranger came up to her. Liv looked at the photo confused, she wasn’t much of a gamer outside of Mario games and her play at Harry Potter lego. “I can try?” Liv offered. She was only gonna rush back home to her Psych marathon and maybe finding something for this girl will help feel less of a failure right now. “What character is this?”

Clementine smiled at the girl, happy that she was willing to help. “So her name is Jill Valentine. She is in a zombie game called Resident Evil and I do twitch streams as the main character playing the game. She’s pretty badass and what does help is short skirts are never hard to find. However, this blue tube top is the hardest part and I can’t find anything at least that shade.” They sighed making their way to the rack of blue shirts. “Thank you for your help my name is Clementine, nice to meet you.” She looked up at the girl with a soft smile.

Xander always likes shopping at thrift shops because you never knew what kind of gems you stumble upon. He had found things to decorate his classroom with, and some things to brighter up his apartment or wardrobe. His parents used to buy their school supplies and clothes from thrift shops when they were younger, and he guessed he just picked up the habit when he began living on his own. A voice took him out of his walk down memory lane. He looked at the picture and looked at the person standing in front of him. “Are you dressing up like this as your everyday look, or is there a convention that you are trying to Cosplay?”

“Oh, I am a twitch streamer and I do this whole dress up as the character in the game, to make it a bit more special.” Clementine giggled at the thought of wearing that outfit on a daily basis. “I don’t know if I could pull that look off for an everyday look. Recently I got the remastered Resident Evil and this is the main character. The people also have spoken in my poll to as to which look it was. So now tonight I will be in a short skit and tube top as I kill some zombies.” 

“Oh, her!” Thomas didn’t know what she was talking about. Resident Evil. That was… full of zombies, right? He only somewhat tolerated horror, insofar as it gave him something to chew on, but jump scare after jump scare made him shit his pants more often than he’d like to admit. 

“Sure.” Thank God he wasn’t pushed to talk about the video game itself; he barely knew anything about it. He went to a rack of shirts just less than a yard away. “I’m sure you can find any blue shirt. Even if there’s print on it, you can turn it inside out. I don’t know much about sewing, but that much seems… doable.”

Taking out a skirt that was perfect Clementine made their way back to the stranger. “Over time i’ve realized you can iron off any logo, it can take over a few hours though.” Looking up at him and smiling thinking of the time she spent almost a full day on t-shirt logo. “Normally I cut off all the extra bits and sew it so that it doesn’t fray and fall off me live.” This made Clementine grimace, she had been in that situation before and it was not fun. Looking around she tried to find anything the right shade of blue. “That happened to me once and the comments were not always helpful.” 

FV: what does love feel like to you? love should feel like you met that other half that was needed. you didn’t realize you needed it but then bam here it is! it feel kinda like a rush of all emotions or like a train on a fast track. 

PF: when you have a crush on someone, how do you show it? i am a horrible flirt so i’m not sure they will ever notice. normally my crushes never notice since they think i am just being really nice or that i like to be naked around everyone. if i am naked around you then i probably have a crush on you. 

SM: how would your friends describe you? very caring for what they are going through and always wanting to help out. probably loud despite being very quiet with new people. 

E: what is your strongest personality quality? i’m very adaptable due to my past and i think that helps out when something random arises. anytime sudden changes have happened i was able to pick up from it fast.
