Today I’d like to explore two things: Japanese food and Americana. When smashed together you get a nipon cowboy fusion, a look that blessed the silver screen in the early 80s but did folks dare touch these things to their tongues? Indeed. Was it any good or was it slop? I for one love a good slop meal as long as we’re talking about stew in a pot, but the other kind that was the number one word of 2025 I despise. So today I’m going to share with you two different recipes at the same time. The end result is perfect poison for the algo and your stomach. I cleaned my plate though so it must be okay.
A chili pepper of any variety
Day 1 you’ll slice the cucumbers and put them in a quart container. Then fill the rest of the vessel with the 3-2-1 recipe: 3 parts vinegar, 2 parts water, 1 part salt. I do this on a scale. Weigh down the solids with a ramakin or small plate so they’re submerged. This will go into the fridge for a few days. You can starve for a week if you so choose. The meal might taste better if you’re super hungry!
Day 4 or 5 or whatever put your blender on a scale. Drop in a 22g chunk of ginger, 100g of carrot, 50g of onion, 55g of vinegar, 55g oil, 25g soy sauce, 6g sugar. Blend it. You know exactly what this is as soon as you taste it. I’ll give you a hint: it’s orange and it doesn’t go on hot dogs.
I cooked up my hot dogs on a skillet till they had a little black char. You do you. Each bun got 1 little leaf of romaine, some pickles, a dog, and the orange stuff. Viola: Japanese-western fusion in your mouth. Eat it in privacy while you stream Buckaroo Bonzai or Robot Jox on Tubi. I give both movies like.. a 3 out of 10 but this hot dog was a solid 7. 🌭 🇯🇵 🤠
