Modern Au
When times get hard, turn to music.
Thatâs exactly what Bilbo Baggins did. With his parents gone, he starts posting music online under a username and picture his friend painted for him, of original and cover songs. As he grows more popular, and makes more music, he starts to heal. He was just a simple hobbit who loved music more than anything.
-optional -
Thorin Oakensheild wants to someday be a big music manager, but so far he is just a simple poor hotdog stand seller. He feels like he is past his prime and past the time of dreams. He has his sister and her sons to take care of now that her husband died. When Bilbo Baggins stops to get a hotdog, and chat a little about his music without saying who he actually is, Thorin is curious and his dream revives. He looks up the songs later and is determined to be his manager and go after his dream.
Gamer! Bilbo Baggins
When Bilbo sails into the west with the elves, he didnât expect to wake up one morning to a flashing sign that said,
âGAME OVERâ
âPLAY AGAIN?â
He also could never have expected what would happen when he said yes. He goes through to choose a race-a hobbit of course- and much more before being sent to the very beginning of his life: a baby. From there he re-grows up into a new person with old memories of a time that didnât happen. He can change things, for better and for worse.
And whatâs with all these quests that keep popping up on a screen that no one else can see?
Elvish Hymn Recited by a Native Welsh Speaker
I thought some of you would be interested in this. I uploaded it today.
Here is part of Tolkienâs âA Elbereth Gilthonielâ. Sindarin, the Elvish language in which this hymn was written was based on the phonology of the Welsh language. It was adapted into a longer version for the 'Passing of The Elvesâ scene in the Lord of The Rings film.
Usually, you only ever hear Elvish being spoken by English speakers, who carry a very different accent and phonology into spoken Elvish. However, as a native Welsh speaker, I knew I could make a recording of Elvish that had a different flavour to it since I already speak the language that Sindarin was inspired by. It might actually be the first recording of a native Welsh speaker speaking Elvish on Youtube, or possibly the internet.
Enjoy :)

The fact that literal medicine is growing in our backyards and theyâre classified as âweedsâ annoys me so fucking much.
See this âweedâ?
Thatâs Cuban Jute and it can be used to treat:
Fevers
Digestion issues
Headaches
Boils
Pimples
Rheumatism
Toothaches
Like whole ass MEDICINE!!! And Iâm supposed to just mow it downđ
How about this âweedâ
Brazilian Vervain!! Fucking VERVAIN!
HORSENETTLE!!!
The fact that these are considered âweedsâ upsets me to my very core.
Hobbit traditions
Au where hobbits have rich history and traditions.
Flower languages, tales of when they wandered, some of them still a nomadic hobbit, actual hobbit language that is somewhat a cousin to Sindarian (is that even spelled right? Elf language), tattoos with meaning, stories and traditions, feet hair and care have meaning, feet are important and strong, hobbit clothing shares messages and are important on them, ect. Just hobbits having more to them than simple shire folk.
Hobbit and Dwarf Hair
Some Au where Hobbits keep their hair short out of absolute frustration and revenge against their curls and itâs not common to keep it long. When Bilbo goes with The Company, they are all horrified when he gets into a fit about how long his hair is growing on the road and chops it all off until itâs just an inch in length. Bilbo is satisfied, The Company is horrified, Gandalf is most amused.
Or
Some Au where Hobbits have their own hair traditions and the Dwarrow hair traditions horrify THEM.
Undercut hair for hobbits, top notts, short hair for women and men, long hair means banishment, Bilbo trying to comfort the dwarrow when he sees their long hair, flowers in hair, ordaments in hair, Bilbo thinking all the company are hobos, Bilbo knowing Gandalf is a hobo for his long hair despite the protests.
A Hobbitâs Mobile Homely Home
Random Hobbit OC I wanted. Also mobile homes in Middle Earth (ignoring an orc or whatever might try and destroy it or something. Not all adventures have to have danger)
Saradoc TĂťk
NĂĄin son of DĂĄin and Afamrail: brothers/ ThĂĄin, FĂĄin- sister/ Alavara
Saradoc TĂťk- a hobbit lass that used to be human in another life- did not approve of living life as a hobbit. She was a hobbit of curly brown hair and bright hazel eyes. She loved the flower language on clothes, the original hobbit language, gardening, and books. She did not like to act as a proper hobbit however. She lived with Bilbo Baggins after the Fell Winter, but not for long. She took carts apart and build a home that she could take with her. It had a giant bed meant for two- but who was to say she wanted to share?- a bathroom with a toilet a bowl and a shower, a stove that wouldnât burn the home down and completed kitchen, and a small living room. It held a garden on the roof It was carried by four grown horses if you could believe it.
She went on trips, once or twice with bilbo, around safe passages to elf or men kingdoms, and visited the shire often. She met NĂĄin, a half dwarf and half elf if you could believe it. He was short like his dwarf father- who was not tall by dwarf standards. He held black hair, pale flawless skin, dark sandy eyes and pointed elf ears, with braids like his father but less beard than a dwarf would have by his age. They traveled together and she found out he used to be a human in another life just like her. They eventually married, NĂĄin became a healer, and Saradoc turned to writing and translating books- some in the original Hobbitish language. They had three children they set upon the world who were curiously of three different races, and who also loved to bastardize the original hobbit language, common, and Khuzul together to confuse everyone and anyone.
Saradoc got a disease, years later when the children where just reaching adulthood, that was turminal and he didnât want to live without her so he talked to his elf mother and father and took a ship to the west and resting place of many Elves before Saradocâs time was up. The children of them infested the shire and poisoned more Baggins and Tooks to go and travel and many other improper hobbit things.
