waltz no. 2 by dmitri shostakovich. a beautiful waltz and the first i ever heard and actually tried to learn on my violin. dmitri was a musical genius and i adore all he stands for and all hes written.

quarter pounder by gezebelle gaburgably. a good angry song.

where's my phone? by mitski. a wonderful song that i find very relatable, like lots of her works.

tomcat disposables by will wood. reminds me a lot of back when i was like. 8-12. a very hopelessly hopeful time for me, and this song is a great representation of that. /nav

cicada days by will wood! similar to tomcat disposables but more representative of me in the present.

chemical overreaction by will wood and the tapeworms. i love will wood! this song is very good at representing disarray.

dr. sunshine is dead by will wood and the tapeworms. i like what it means to him and i both. a very meaningful song part of a very meaningful album.

I absolutely adore the string quartet! I played the first and second movements at my latest concert!!! The fourth and second are my favorite!

Did you know that quartet was written as an autobiography during Dimitri’s toughest time? He thought no one would write anything for him, so he may as well do it himself! He has a recurring “motif” in the piece, which is just two or more notes that appear repeatedly! Those notes spell out his initials!

The notes are translated from German notation, so they spell out “D Es (S) C H”! In American notation, it’s D, E flat, C natural, and B natural!

He directed the piece to “the victims of fascism in war,” himself falling among that majority! If you ever want Dmitri facts, I am locked and LOADED!!! He’s my favorite composer to talk about!
