“Obviously the comments he made were out of order, I don’t agree with them at all. But the players he spoke about, I do think that tennis should be thankful. It’s not about men or women but tennis should be thankful for the players that we have around just now. Everyone deserves to capitalise on that. Roger and Rafa have been unbelievable for tennis, but so has Serena Williams. We should all be thankful for those guys and what they’ve done for the sport. I didn’t really understand what he was getting at. They had an unbelievable womens final an hour after he finished and there was 16000 people in the stadium, it was a great match. They were both fantastic at the end of the match. Gave great speeches, spoke unbelievably well and were very sporting. I think womens tennis won the day in the end.” (x)
