Wolverine Wednesdays by Claws & Thunder Presents:
Five Times Logan Stole the Scene in Season One of X-Men: The Animated Series
This past Saturday, I shared some of my favorite Ororo moments from Season One of X-Men: The Animated Series. It only seemed fitting that Logan would get his turn as well.
From the very first episode, Wolverine quickly established himself as one of the breakout stars of the series. He was tough, stubborn, fiercely loyal, and the original badass. Whether he was taking down Sentinels, trading barbs with Scott and Remy, protecting his teammates, or simply being the lovable Canucklehead we've all come to know and love, Logan had a way of commanding attention whenever he appeared on screen.
As I've mentioned before, there were two characters who immediately captured my imagination when X-Men: The Animated Series premiered in the fall of 1992. Storm was one of them. Wolverine was the other.
More than thirty years later, I still find myself rewatching many of the same scenes that made me a fan all those years ago. So for this week's Wolverine Wednesday, I'm looking back at five moments from Season One where Logan absolutely stole the scene and reminded us why he's the best there is at what he does.
And don't worry, we'll be back next Wednesday with five more unforgettable Logan moments from Season One.
Night of the Sentinels part 1
From the moment he burst through the wall claws-first, Wolverine demanded your attention. Tough, fearless, and ready for a fight, Logan's unforgettable introduction immediately established him as the resident bad boy of the show.
Night of the Sentinels part 1
"I go where I wanna go." With one line, Wolverine cemented himself as the team's resident rebel. Beneath the attitude and constant clashes with Cyclops, however, was a man genuinely concerned about Jubilee's safety, even though he had only just met her.
Night of the Sentinels part 2
Beneath the claws, attitude, and bravado was a man fiercely devoted to the people he cared about. As he mourns Morph and vows to avenge his fallen friend, we get to see the loyalty, grief, and unwavering devotion that have always defined Logan at his core.
Night of the Sentinels part 2
When Wolverine declares, "This one's for you, Morph!" he proves that he is a man of his word. Fueled by grief and loyalty, Logan unleashes his ferocity on the Sentinels while honoring the friend he swore to avenge.
Enter Magneto
Logan's clash with Professor X isn't just about Sabretooth. It's about trust. Convinced that his longtime enemy poses a serious threat, Wolverine refuses to stay silent when he believes the team is underestimating the danger.
No Season One Wolverine list would be complete without this moment. Logan catches an unconscious Ororo in his arms as the music swells around them, giving fans the very first Logan and Ororo moment in the series and planting the seeds for one of the show's most beloved relationships.
Because I always choose RoLo!
