A HURRICANE.

                 digits dig into the rough material of her jeans as she sits in the POLICE STATION, eyes darting to && fro at the officers that pass by. none of them stop && inform her she’s free to go, or even tell her where matt is. they’re being questioned, all of them who had successfully made it off the mountain, but at this point all emily wants is to go home, get in a warm bath, && erase all the impossible events of the night from her mind.

                 patience tested for long enough, emily goes to gain the attention of the nearest OFFICER && demand to be taken home when blonde tresses catch her eye. she turns her head, && lo and behold, there is the homecoming queen. despite the previous animosity between them, relief blossoms in her chest at the sight of her.

                 rough palm wraps around bruised arm as an officer leads her into the station. lithe digits cling to the blanket that cloaks frame, hobbles slow into safety. there’s voices,·phones, && cries && it causes a hitch in her breath. too much going on, too much for a dazed mind to handle. dewy hues fall to the floor, neck hunched as she leads her to a cushioned seat. but before aching bones can rest, a familiar voice buzzes in ears. she jumps slight, red rimmed eyes raising to her ex best friend. oh god, she’s ALIVE.
