We are all running around with no idea what the f is going on, don’t forget to enjoy the little moments and not take life to seriously. Yesterday my morning practice ended with me on my back, off the mat, just laying there for a few minutes. Today ended with a strong side crow and not enough air time in flying pigeon to snag a picture. But that’s life it changes, I enjoyed both moments. Will I feel great and get up and moving right away? Will I stay in bed until I have to go to work or all day? Every morning I have to make the decision on how my day is going to go. Am I going to fight through a mood or fall into it? Choosing to let small things blow past with the wind is so hard to do but being conscious of it is the first step to living a rich life. This week at @yogapearl we are focusing on Apana Vayu which works with the eliminative functions and the downward/outward flow of energy in the body. Salabhasana or locust pose uses muscular engagement in the pelvis and strengthens the entire backside of the body including the pelvis, legs and lumbar spine. Some tips for locust pose: - keep your neck long by looking slightly down towards the top of your mat - lift your upper body and arms first, then if it feels comfortable lift your legs. - think of pulling your head and feet apart to keep from crunching your low back - lift your arms, palms facing ceiling or clasp your hands behind your back - if you have low back problems, keep your legs on the floor or connect your big toes and knees together.
