...Steampower is ultimately an industrial machine and for a machine to work so does its structure. In a series like Professor Layton, locations and item designs do get crazy, however they all have consistent structure; you may be surprised by how things look, but your brain can comprehend what you're looking at, infact this is a very important aspect of these games. Everything is built a way for a reason. Your eye is encouraged to wander, to investigate 🔎

Here, this is not the case. This nonsense is an aesthetic mishmash of "Let's try to get an industrial feel" without knowing how a machine works.

Allow us to compare the structure with official art made for Lost Future, almost two decades ago now, which incidentally carries a similar steampunk aesthetic. It is much more consistent, it's still steampunk nonsense of course (gears gears gears) however if you look at the structures: the windows the random strange but comprehensible vehicles (blimp! Bus!) you can perhaps understand my gripe. Things are crazy but they make structural sense. There is no nonsense lineweight or overlapping that my eye can see, and furthemore, my eye can make sense of the surroundings.
