Självklart
Since the Swedes are very polite, another very common word in Swedish is “självklart” which means self-evident or obvious.
Själv = self
Klart = clear
The fact that they say that something is self-evident, should not be interpreted as passive aggressive. They think more on the line of “of course you can do it, thanks for being polite, you didn’t even have to ask”. Still, you do need to ask.
Kan jag få låna din penna? = could I borrow your pen?
Självklart! = of course!
Självklart är du bjuden på festen! = of course you are invited to the party!
Common phrases in Swedish

What is the weather today?
(I thought I’d already posted this page, so that’s why the date is a while ago)
I’m no artist so she looks fairly odd, but as long as I can tell what it is then it works lol

I did some icons to help add visual learning to my notes.
I’m sketching some icons for my Swedish journal, and this lil boi has finally given up after trying to eat my pencil.

I started transferring some of my Swedish notes into my new notebook.
I‘m writing the English words in yellow because that’s the hardest color to see. That way when I look through my notes, I will focus more on the Swedish words and have to concentrate to see the English translations. I want my brain to get more accustomed to the Swedish word without relying on seeing the English word right next to it. Then I can know I’ve actually memorized the word rather than seeing what it means from the corner of my eye.
