All A Bad Idea, Isn’t It?

We finally found the kind of connection

that puts a spark back into ordinary days

the kind where being understood

doesn’t feel like something you have to fight for.

We fit in the quiet places.

in the laughter.

in the silences.

in the things neither of us has to explain.

and somehow, we are both afraid

of the same ending.

You are afraid that one day

i will choose what is familiar

and leave you behind.

And i am afraid that one day

you will decide i was only meant

to be a beautiful almost.

But what you do not know

is that somewhere deep in my soul,

i have already chosen you.

i want beside me

while the sky turns gold

and the world finally grows quiet.

And if this life is not the one

where i get to hold your hand

through all those sunsets,
