It's been three weeks since I've seen my kids! Finally I'm well enough to have them come visit. If it weren't for my bladder bleeding non stop and the fact that I'm in excruciating pain, i'd being seeing the astounding Tori Amos tonight (for something like the 55th time). Guess who's spending the weekend in the hospital.... For once it's not me, it's Mr. Rufus! The bladder infection he had traveled up to his kidneys and it's become a really serious situation. We almost lost him the other night; thankfully the emergency vet here is top notch and he is doing better today. He's still in critical condition and most likely will be staying there another day. Paws crossed that this crisis is over real soon! Just got my CT scan results: minimal growth of the bladder tumor and no sign of cancer anywhere else! I will be starting a low dose, low side effect chemo regimen in two or three weeks to shrink the bladder tumor and keep the disease from progressing. The excruciating pain I'm having is from a cracked/broken rib! I'll be staying on pain meds until that clears up. It's CT Scan Day! Since I've stopped chemo I've been even sicker: I've had pulmonary embolisms. I had a severe reaction to steroids where I put 50 pounds on in a weekend. I've had surgery to have filters for blood clots put in. And the last three weeks I've been in excruciating pain and have been unable to walk more than a few feet, due to withdrawl from the steroids and anti convulsion meds I was on. So today I ask you to please send any good vibes, thoughts, prayers, or cheers this way because I really can use them!!! Finally I've recovered from MinPin Summit 2014! What a fantastic day it was, filled with lots of good friends, crazy MinPins, great food and drink, and perfect weather. We had a whole bunch of new attendees: @blusoul24 with Kahlua, @diadee and Rob with Armani, @gopherdogsboston with Pumkin, @laurensamantha811 with Jack, Barry and Ellen with Bailey, Madeleine with Loki, and @livelaughphotograph007 and Pete came all the way from Ontario with Abby and Ava! It was wonderful to meet all of you; we truly have an amazing extended family! Special thanks must go to @cjmacs2 , @msporges and @porkchop_theminpin who got everything together and organized since I couldn't do too much else but sit there, and to @sfhock and MIKEY for manning the grill and cooking the many burgers, hot dogs, sausages and shish kabobs. Also BIG thank yous to the people that made the beautiful doggie gift bags, scarves and assorted goodies: @nikkirob221 , @minpinbrat , @snugglyandfurry , @lolathepincess You went above and beyond and did a fabulous job!
