Bottles that aren’t recycled and have their lids left on don’t get compacted when they’re in with all the trash and something crazy like 1/5 of landfill is just air because of this reason (a fact my dad told me, he works for the environment agency). By taking the lids off of your bottles when you chuck them in a bin you can save the planet that bit quicker.
