Biography: Born in Kurain, a small village in the mountains surrounding Los Angeles, Maya Fey is a spirit medium and the next in the sucession line for title of Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique, which’s associated with a great deal of political power, but also with constants threats to her life, as she’s experienced at least 5 times in canon. She’s familiar with the world’s uglier side and with the pain of being falsely accused of crimes, but even so manages to keep an honest smile in her face, for she knows there’re others suffering as much, if not even more, than her, so she must be strong for them.
Experience: Maya’s the younger sister of Mia Fey, a deceased defense attorney. She’s accompanied her sister to watch her trials many times in the past and has even helped her in dealing with evidence for some cases.
Later, she worked as a paralegal alongside Phoenix Wright at Wright and Co. Law Offices, having helped him in several cases. As such, Maya’s familiar with some of the terminology and procedures related to the law world, especially those involving murder trials.
She’s occasionally used her abilities as a spirit medium to summon Mia when Phoenix needed the most in particularly difficult moments. However, that’d be impossible to be done in Hive City, since Hive City’s respawn system completely nulls the purpose and power of spirit channeling.
Reasons for application: “Well, I was going to apply as a secretary at first, but then Mr. Edgeworth told me the office was already full of them, so I thought about what else I could do to be useful around here. The scientists told me that I can’t channel any spirit in Hive City, so I thought there was nothing I could do to sustain myself and keep Wright and Co.’s legacy here…”
“Then, an idea came to me: Nick wasn’t part of this yet, so why don’t I join this team as a defense attorney? At least until he stops being a lazy ass and comes to work himself, that is. I’ve seen him do this enough times to know how to yell ‘OBJECTION!’ and all of the rest of the lawyer mumbo jumbo to get ingrained in my brain!”
“So yeah, I dunno how well I can pull this off, but I can at least try? I gotta make Sis proud and show everyone what our team is made of! She always said that a lawyer must smile until the very end and believe in their clients. And after that trial from the other day, I could see clearly that Hive CIty needs attorneys like that! TAKE THAT!”

Body Text: Minions are a menace that must be stopped. Keep their memes away from our homes and children. Keep their cheeks out of our churches.
Reason for Proposition of Law: To destroy all minions
Submitter: The anti-meme lobbyists
“I had hoped it would not come to this, but circumstances dictate that we must have an impromptu vote on a very important law. Please ensure that you read the text very carefully. Additionally, we will allow for comments just as we did for the jury voting; please voice your opinions appropriately. Do not cast your vote foolishly in this very serious matter!”
Well, it appears special circumstances require us to forgo decorum for an impromptu vote. The poll can be found here - stay tuned for the results! Thank you!
A legal secretary is a lawyer’s valuable assistant, tasked with dictations, filing, completing briefs, and other necessities.
Name: Dlanor A. Knox
Biography: A renowned Inquisitor, Dlanor is chief of the 7th District Repentance Enforcement Agency of the Great Court of Heaven (otherwise known as the Eiserne Jungfrau). This highly specialized force is tasked with performing heresy interrogations, carrying out executions, and sometimes bestowing redemption.
Experience: Not often does the Great Court send out the Eiserne Jungfrau; only after the Court has thoroughly inspected a case will it dispatch the Eiserne Jungfrau as a last resort. For the most part, Dlanor spends her time stamping and reviewing paperwork in the Great Court. Stacks, and loads, and mounds of paperwork.
Reasons for application: “No matter where I am, I always seek a place in which justice can be delivered both fairly and EQUALLY. Allow me to assist you in any way I possibly CAN.”
“Your desire for justice and familiarity with reviewing documents makes you quite an attractive candidate. Therefore, we are happy to accept your application for the position of legal secretary. You will be assigned a lawyer to work under momentarily; for now, your skills reviewing paperwork will likely come in handy for the office as a whole. I tend to keep on top of my own paperwork, but others… Anyways. Thank you for your application, and welcome.”
Biography: (1 - 2 sentences): “I come from the First World and i have been alive for so long, Plus did I tell you I am an ancient?”
Experience: “Being alive for so long I have watched those who are innocent get their unfair ‘justice’ and so on and so forth, I have defended them in the Ancient Council and I will be able to take care of them”
Reasons for application: “It is not fair that a law firm is all prosecutors and no defense attorneys do you not think it would be fair to have at least one that would defend the innocent?”
“Hmph. I will refrain from commenting on the necessity of having an excess of prosecutors… You say that you have defense experience? Very well, then. You have been accepted for the position of defense attorney. Thank you for your application, and welcome.”

Biography: Born in Lhant, raised in Strahta as a member of the military (Lieutenant).
Experience: As a former member of the military with a great deal of trust placed in him, Hubert has done a great many reports with swift and precise wording. As such, Hubert has the capability to act as a scribe in any capacity.
In addition, due to his extensive military training, he is more than capable of acting as a field assistant in the event that evidence gathering or testimonial gathering is required by the law offices. Especially if things turn… dicey.
Reasons for application:「I wish to be a part of restoring more order to the city in any way that I am able.」
“That is quite a resume - and a compelling reason for application. It is heartening to see more people come to realize the need for order! You have been accepted for the position of legal secretary, and will therefore be assigned a lawyer to work under shortly. Thank you for your application, and welcome.”
A legal secretary is a lawyer’s valuable assistant, tasked with dictations, filing, completing briefs, and other necessities.
Name: Emizel
Biography: Emizel lived a happy life as the son of the Netherworld President until he was abandoned in Hades, his word’s prison, and declared legally dead. After that, he witnessed firsthand how corrupt the Netherworld’s government had gotten and decided to join a political party that was rebelling against it.
Experience: He’s a reaper, and he knows how to judge the purity of human souls, and like most demons has helped punish those deemed too sinful for the afterlife. Also, he has plenty of experience dealing with criminals and corrupt politicians.
Reasons for application: “If people are finally doing something to reform the city, I want to help, too.”
“Well. That’s quite a resume, I must say. We appreciate your interest, and we are happy to accept you for the position of legal secretary. Er, I do hope that you are not anticipating a system identical to the one you are used to… Anyways. Thank you for your application, and welcome!”
A legal secretary is a lawyer’s valuable assistant, tasked with dictations, filing, completing briefs, and other necessities.
Name: Yagen Toushirou
Biography: I am, what you would say, a living sword. I have been handed down from various daimyos throughout my lifetime.
Experience: With my background explained, I have my fair share of experiences regarding laws and battle strategy. However, as times are quite different from the time I’m most acquainted with, I am still eligible for secretarial duties. I have been a notable secretary to my current master as well.
Reasons for application: For educational purposes and financial security. I am also curious of how you run things here.
“Another sword? There are quite a number of you running around this city it seems. Anyways, your credentials seem adequate enough to qualify you for this position. Congratulations on being accepted for the position of legal secretary. Thank you for your application, and welcome.”
Biography: Simon showed promise as a prosecutor when he was younger, but tragic prevented him from excelling. Simon served a seven year sentence under the false charge of murder. He was called to serve near the end of his sentence in spite of his charges. He was eventually acquitted of all charges against him.
Experience: Simon wished to take a different approach to prosecuting by studying analytical psychology at the Cosmos Space Center. Despite being away from the bench for a few years and employing questionable tactics in court in the past, Simon is a seasoned prosecutor whose use of psychology in the courtroom has proved beneficial in achieving favorable results.
Reasons for application: “I am free to persecute on my own terms once more. I am honor-bound by the badge I carry to uphold the law, no matter where I reside. If this officer truly wishes to establish order in this chaos, I am willing to lend aid if you will accept it.”
“Ah, yes. Miles Edgeworth has mentioned you. He seemed to speak quite highly of you, and there is no evidence which suggests I should doubt his opinion in this instance. You say that you employ psychological tactics in your work? I would like to see this. Regardless, you application for the position of prosecutor has been accepted. Thank you for your interest, and welcome.”
The courtroom, generally tense with the gravity of its purpose, grew silent and airless in the moments before the verdict was announced. Time seemed to freeze as the votes were counted; the moment in which the judge slammed her gavel upon its soundblock jolted the immobile observers from their trance. Within moments, all of their anticipation would end.
Hello, Hive City! It’s time for us to announce the results of the trial of Beauty versus Klavier! First, the final poll results:
Should Klavier Gavin be punished?
Yes - 70%
No - 30%
The court has decided that such a verdict means that Gavin’s punishment will result in one week of public humiliation in the stocks (during day hours only, of course) as well as $1,500 in restitution fees to be paid to Beauty and the rest of the Citta Law office. After his time in the stocks, he will be expected to attend sensitivity classes once a week until he completes the program, and he will fulfill 30 hours of community service.
In addition, as suggested by the victim himself, his forearm will bear a tattoo marking him as a criminal so that neither he nor anyone else can forget his crime.
Thank you all so much for your participation and comments throughout this trial! We greatly appreciate all of your involvement and your eagerness to make Citta Law even better, and we hope you had as much fun as we did putting all of this together! There were a few obstacles in planning both the trial itself and the divvying of punishment--the difficulty involved in trying to set up a jury, for example, or how hard it would be for the mun to RP if their character was in jail--but we tried to find alternatives that were neither perfect nor operationally unsound and we think, for the most part, everything was a success!
Every character at citta has an opportunity to help shape this legal system and make it as awful or as ideal as they please, so, as per usual, if you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know! And if you would like your character to be put on trial (or if your character would like to send a complaint about another character for us to inquire on) we have forms on our page ready to be filled out (if you have any questions, feel free to ask as well)!
With that, we conclude our first Citta Law trial and we hope to see you all again soon!
Disclaimer: all punishments were discussed and agreed upon by the mun and no punishment would ever be enacted if the mun was unwilling.

Hello, Hive City! You’ve eagerly (or not-so-eagerly) followed our first trial, and now it’s time to vote! The poll will ask a simple question: Should Klavier Gavin be punished, or not punished?
But that’s not all - the more who vote to punish Mr. Gavin (that is, the higher the percentage of guilty votes), the more severe his punishment will be! A simple majority is needed for the most moderate of punishment (over 50%), but the prosecution in this case is advocating for death. Well, Hive City? What do you think?
Remember, any character can vote on the outcome, whether they were in the actual court room or just following along via television or the internet! And if characters would like to comment on the trial itself, or on Klavier’s guilt or sentence, there is a section on the poll which will allow them to do so, so feel free to make use of it (you might need to click through a bit to get to it)!
Thank you for sticking with us through our first trial, and we hope you all had as much fun watching and participating as we had in planning!
Click to cast your vote!
And if you need a recap of or would like to read the trial click here for easy access!
Hello! We will be closing the poll soon, so please make sure to cast your vote! Currently, the 61% yes vote means that Klavier will be forced to pay the equivalent of $1000 in total to Beauty as well as the law office. He’ll also have to do 20+ hours of community service.
Does this sound too lenient? Too harsh? Submit your votes!

[Hello! Yesterday marked the beginning of Citta Law’s first trial, featuring Beauty’s accusation of sexual harassment against Klavier Gavin. Their lawyers, Franziska von Karma and Miles Edgeworth, respectively, have presented their arguments to discover the truth of this case. When Klavier’s assertion of his own innocence caused the courtroom to become particularly heated, the presiding judge, Terezi Pyrope, announced a recess. For those just catching up on all of the drama, all of the posts are listed below for your convenience!]
Klavier v Beauty || Parts 1-20
part 1 - Terezi Pyrope, acting judge for the trial, introduces the case.
part 2 - Franziska von Karma, representing the plaintiff, states the prosecution’s position: the prosecution is absolutely certain that Klavier Gavin committed the act.
part 3 - Beauty Found in Oblivion, the plaintiff, gives his version of the events, claiming that the accused ground against him, while the lights were turned off (and the culprit was physically unidentifiable), without consent.
part 4 - Miles Edgeworth, representing the accused, comments on the prosecution’s assertions: they are compelling, but require more insight on the other side of the situation.
part 5 - Klavier Gavin, the accused, states his version of the events in question, claiming that he was framed and never committed the harassment.
part 6 - Judge Pyrope asks the prosecution to call their first witness.
part 7 - The prosecution calls Beauty to the stand to testify.
part 8 - Beauty’s testimony: Beauty states that someone claiming to be Klavier grabbed him and harassed while the lights were off. Klavier then exclaimed that he was not the offender, but Beauty states that he is sure it was him.
part 9 - The prosecution opts to not question said testimony further.
part 10 - Judge Pyrope asks the defense if they will cross-examine the witness.
part 11 - Edgeworth presses further on Beauty’s testimony: Edgeworth asks Beauty to explain how exactly he is sure that the offender was Klavier.
part 12 - Beauty elaborates on the details of the events surrounding his claims. Beauty states that, under questioning, Klavier admitted to harassing him. He also states that Klavier gave himself away by discussing his grinding technique.
part 13 - Edgeworth requests evidence as to Beauty’s claims.
part 14 - Franziska presents evidence in the form of text and voice messages between the plaintiff and the accused.
part 15 - Edgeworth has no further questions.
part 16 - Judge Pyrope offers some commentary (censored for the audience) and requests the next witness.
part 17 - Franziska calls Klavier to the stand and asks for his testimony.
part 18 - Klavier gives his version of the events in question and posits that the phone messages are out of context. He states that the texts in question are concerning his game-related actions, and are completely unrelated to the trial.
part 19 - Franziska loses her composure and insults the witness.
part 20 - Due to the rising tensions in the court room, Judge Pyrope calls for a recess.
-- RECESS --
part 21 - Court reconvenes and Judge Pyrope summarizes the trial so far.
part 22 - Franziska presents further excerpts from the phone conversation to undermine Klavier’s claims, with the intention to prove that the conversation was related to the incident.
part 23 - Edgeworth restates the defense’s position and questions the legitimacy and relevance of the texts presented.
part 24 - Franziska confirms that the texts were taken directly from Beauty’s phone, which she presents, and requests testimony from Klavier.
part 25 - Klavier claims that the messages in question represent Beauty’s misunderstanding of the facts rather than any evidence to his guilt.
part 26 - Franziska counters that some of Klavier’s messages to Beauty were sexually charged in nature, and that there is no denial of the grinding incident therein.
part 27 - Edgeworth defends Klavier by stating that some of the texts are ambiguous in nature, and requests further clarification from Klavier.
part 28 - Klavier refuses to testify further.
part 29 - Judge Pyrope moves to end the trial, if there is no objection from the prosecution or defense.

[Hello, Hive City! In just a short while, we will be premiering our first official Citta Law trial. Franziska von Karma will be representing the Beauty Found in Oblivion as the plaintiff charges Klavier Gavin, represented by Miles Edgeworth, with the crime of sexual harassment. The Honorable Terezi Pyrope will preside over the case as judge.
Is Klavier guilty? If so, what should his punishment be? This is what we are going to decide. However, we need your help, dear citizens! So, please follow along with the case using the tag #trial: beauty v klavier. Upon the conclusion of the trial, when both sides have presented their case and evidence, we will ask all of you who have been watching the trial to act as jurors and vote between two simple options: should Klavier be punished or set free?
The poll will be posted on the Citta Law blog after each side is represented for all of you to access! Your characters may be sitting in on the trial as actual jurors or even just following along online or through media -- all characters may vote regardless of if they are following the trial in person or not!
If your characters would like to comment or muse about the proceedings (or egg Klavier's apartment), feel free to use the #trial: beauty v klavier tag yourselves as well! The more community involvement, the more fun trials will be!]
[Here they are - the poll results! To refrain from passing laws that may be deemed too restrictive, poll results require a ¾ majority (75%) in order for the law to pass, so the results reflect those parameters. In addition, laws which received less than 20 votes will be resubmitted on the next ballot due to lack of input. The laws which have passed will be compiled and added to the Citta Law website. Are you unsatisfied with the results? Feel free to submit an amendment following our submission form! And if a law didn’t pass but had more than 50% feel free to revise, resend and promote it in the next round of voting! Thank you so much for participating, and be sure to be on the lookout for the next Citta Vote!]
results of the polls as per 2:44am est after voting has ended:
