guys, this needs to be shared. a lot of people use this term so freely and don’t understand the history of hated behind this word.

as a person of colour, and of the lgbt+ community, i think that people should understand what this word may have meant to people who went through struggles, so that we could live in a better place.

because, to them, this word isn’t playful. it’s not a term that you describe in a positive light.

it’s a slur. it means weird, unnatural, bizarre etc. it’s derogatory.

and i doubt those people, wherever they may be, would want to see a world that they worked so hard to make better, call them things that they tried so hard to destroy.

this isn’t about what we call ourselves now.

it’s what they where called then.
