"Really, who'd be so senseless as to let someone destroy the kitchen? We've all got to get along now, don't we? Surely you could just help him, instead of being mean."
Albel already had trouble trusting people and having to be reminded by the voice he’d heard upon awakening that he couldn’t trust anyone was enough to leave him almost completely sleep deprived. He had managed to find a few suitable areas to rest without interruption, but only briefly. There were just far too many people here.
His gait was usually refined, but now sloppy from a lack of sleep; almost tripping over the hem of his sarong every now and then. This shouldn’t have been a problem but the manner he’d tied it caused the cloth to drag awkwardly along the side his heel. It was too much of a nuisance either way; it was a miracle he’d even bothered with it at all. Judging by his current state, it wouldn’t have been wrong to assume he was intoxicated despite not being so.
It really wasn’t much of a surprise to him, and probably to the onlookers around them, that he’d managed to collide with someone. Finally slipping over the garment he’d been too lazy to tire properly and conveniently falling right into the girl in front of him. Luckily enough for him, when they fell, he wasn’t the one to hit the floor; rather, Albel lands on his knees, head rested against the other’s shoulder. Which is far more comfortable than where he had been napping. Admittedly, he nearly considered just staying there.
Ah right. He couldn’t trust anyone here. Especially not enough to use them as a pillow. He sits up, staring at her blankly before yawning. Mood as foul as always, if not more so than usual, finding no particular reason to brighten up simply for being in the presence of another person. Especially not after she had so rudely bumped into him! Even though, it was mostly… entirely his fault. Minor details didn’t matter, after all.
❝ Aren’t you going to apologize, fool? ❞
Was it possible, to walk through this building without having someone practically charge into her? She'd assumed someone who looked so dishevelled would try to avoid her, to get out of her way. To have them practically fly into her, knocking her down; to dare to rest their head upon her, was unimaginable. To blame her for it, too? Oh, she hardly cared who heard her. It wasn't as if the onlookers were close enough to get all her words; her tone, perhaps, but little more. How fun . "No, that's what I'm meant to say to you. Your line's something different." Leaning backwards, away from the unwelcome contact, her voice would drip with sweetness; why act angered, when it was so much more fun to at least sound nice? Wouldn't it sound like she was comforting him, even if he'd fallen on her, to anyone not close enough to hear her low murmur? "Something more like ' Oh, Miss, I'm terribly sorry that my idiocy has inconvenienced you, and that I've had the audacity to try and make you take the blame'. That would almost do, for a start."
"Or, maybe, should I cry out for help? It's such a bad look, you running into me like that, isn't it."
"A…Aaaaah!"
Oh, this was bad—this was so, so bad. He’d been doing fairly well in terms of managing his clumsiness up to this point, but…it seemed more conscious effort was required than he’d thought. If he didn’t watch himself, he was liable to trip and—
"I-I-I’m so s-sorry…!"
—accidentally spill some tea onto a lady’s shoe.
(It had cooled to a manageable temperature, so there was little chance of it burning her, but…!)
"The—The kitchen’s j-just there. I’ll get something to help clean up—"
For once, someone who wasn't rude .
The heat bothered her far less than the liquid; while her shoes weren't exactly absorbent , it still wasn't exactly a pleasant sensation. Slipping her foot from the shoe - wasn't he lucky that the tea hadn't touched her anklet? - she'd almost look sympathetic. It was natural to be annoyed, but at least he'd tried to apologise.
At least he knew his place. "It's fine , really." A slight sigh would accompany her words; she wasn't happy in the slightest, but at least he was trying to fix it. "Please, do. It would be a problem if I trailed this through the halls."
Castle of Glass
As the woman appeared, Gunha beamed up at the handful of hope she represented in that very moment. Constantly ever so shifting the balance on the table in one hand as the shaky clanking of the glasses kept ringing endlessly, threatening of things to potentially come.
He was relieved, she seemed like a nice person who wanted to help, lucky! keeping the glass between his teeth he articulated the best he could.
" Old lady! Please help me out! If you could just put away the glasses one by one it shouldn’t be a problem… "
With that, he was sure she knew just what to do. Gunha felt a weight of worry falling off his heart as he might come out of this mess much cleaner than anticipated.
What had he just called her? Normally, something that insignificant wouldn't matter to her, but to have such disrespect when she'd been trying to be nice was unacceptable. He'd have to learn . But why bother betraying her irritation? No, it was far more fun to let him think she'd help, before she bought him down. Wouldn't it just be funny , to see the look on his face as everything came crashing down? It was only glass; she could easily remake it, if she felt so inclined. But he'd have to learn respect .
" Oh ? I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Well, just the first bit. One by one~?" As much of a warning as she'd give him; maybe if he apologised, she'd reconsider. No; she'd consider dealing with the mess that was going to appear all too soon; it was too late for that. A few glasses would be removed from the top - no sense in letting him down too soon - as she lazily began to help him. For now. " What's your name, kid?"

Despite the strangeness of her surroundings, Cinder simply hadn't seen fit to really pay attention to too many of those stuck with her. Until she knew what was going on behind the scenes, and how to turn it to her advantage, it wasn't worth her time figuring out who might be useful .
At least, that was how she'd planned it; she'd hardly expected to be the one staring at another victim . Especially when he'd done nothing to deserve it; he'd simply walked by, maybe he'd smiled . That thought shouldn't have been enough to affect her at all. But, irritatingly, it was . "Just when I though this experiment would bore me, too." Her voice a low purr as she stood, gaze languidly drifting back to his face. No, she shouldn't be interested by a thing in this experiment, not yet. But plans could be altered , couldn't they? Especially when she needed to figure out just why that seemed to be.

🐱 } The troll paused mid-step when she realized just how close she was to the female in front of her. She mumbled an apology, probably louder than she was trying to go for — the whole deaf thing throws you off sometimes. When she really got to look at the woman, Meulin’s face turned a light shade of green from her blood rushing to her cheeks. She was a startlingly attractive woman, after all. She just blinked and stared at her.
This wasn't something she'd seen before. Not the reaction - no, she got that often enough that it was almost expected - but the simple fact that the other wasn't human. Not a Faunus, nor a Grim. Wasn't that interesting . Judging from the other's reaction, she'd certainly meant to apologise; apparently, she'd thought she'd been in her way. "No, I don't think you need to say sorry . Just your name."
Like this for a starter, if you want! Not going to cap it for now because I'm thirsty for threads t b h
Castle of Glass
Dining Room, 3:00PM
At one of the dining tables sat a teenage boy, bored out of his mind. He tapped his finger against the table as he tried to make a sense out of all of this. He needed to be in Academy City, not… Wherever this was.
" Mmm… What am I supposed to do..? " There was stuff about unity and working as team with strangers, that’s alright, Gunha done that plenty of times in his life. But will it grant him his freedom?
He took the glasses from the seats next to him and put them next to each other, his own glass on top of it as he was thinking, a feat considered a miracle coming from him. As he pondered, before he knew it, the boy and already collected every single glass in the dining hall and built a pyramid of glass on the table.
It spark some kind of interest for Gunha, as he ran to each and every cupboard he could find to get more glasses. Before anyone knew it he had stapled up 300 glasses into one huge pyramid.
With arms crossed, he looked triumphantly on his masterpiece.
" Hey, not bad! I wonder of I ca- No! No no no nonononono! “
Accidentally bumping into one of the table’s legs, the whole pyramid started to shake and he saw the work of art he had created was going for a tragic fate as the top started fall. In a state of panic, he grabbed the table in one hand and raised it, using the immense force of his lungs to blow at the pyramid to stabilize it the best he could as he caught several of the glasses with his free hand and one with his mouth.
As gracious and incredible as his save was. He was now finding himself in a new pickle. While the balance of the table he held high in one hand was at absolute balance, the slightest shift would make the whole pillar of glass crash down. To put it shortly, he was in a deadlock where he couldn’t move without risking to shatter over 200 glasses.
If only someone could help him out by putting the glasses away little by little. He would’ve done it himself, but he only have that many limbs that reaches as far as they can. " H-Help…. Somebody..! "
Oh dear. She'd been watching this boy run back and forth; someone lesser might have called it distracting. Eventually, she'd become curious as to what he was doing. Why would a boy need so many glasses? Oh. Now this was funny. An eyebrow would raise as she walked into the room, simply staring at the boy and his potential mess. How much longer could he hold it up? Wouldn't it just be beautiful, if it fell and shattered? It would be so easy to just knock it, to make it tip. No. She had to behave for now. Until she figured out what this place was, who ran it, and why they'd had the nerve to drag her here.
" That's not the most effective way, you know. Simply asking somebody for help just doesn't get you it, most of the time." It would be too easy to just walk away, to let him deal with the consequences of whatever mistake had led him to this situation. But it was amusing, to watch him trying to hold up what was left of his work, and it wouldn't really hurt her to help him. Not that she would be in any rush to do so, not at all. "I can't help but think it's not as simple as it looks, is it? Otherwise you'd hardly need to try so hard to balance it. You caused this, well, almost mess. I wonder what I should I do?"
