There is heavy suspicion that the user sending all of this is someone known as Roadkill; the blog @antiroadkill has been documenting and following their antics. This user has a history of impersonation and of trying to tear communities apart through false, horrific accusations, intended to cause in-fighting. As of writing, these accusations have not been employed, but stay aware and watch out for them.

This user is posting real gore in MOGAI tags as well as sending it and threats to blogs. I have not looked at any of the images so cannot provide a description.

Okay, so we have “crushes” when we’re romantically attracted to someone, “lust” when we’re sexually attracted to someone, and “squishes” when we’re platonically attracted to/interested in someone.

What do you call it when you’re aesthetically attracted to someone? Like, you enjoy looking at them, but don’t care about touching them, being close to them or getting to know them? There’s no emotional attachment there, you just like their appearance. Do we have a word for that yet?

If not, I’d like to propose “thete.” (Based on the word “aesthete” or “aesthetic.” Rhymes with “heat.”) If you have a thete for someone, you’re aesthetically attracted to them, but not romantically/sexually/platonically attracted. “Thete” could also refer to the target of the attraction, just like “crush” and “squish” can. The adjective form could be “thetic” or “thetish.”

This is by no means a ‘friendly’ kind of attraction, but it usually does have a basis of respecting the object of attraction (even if it’s not acknowledged), and can be formed due to a want (or perceived need) to be better than them.

It differs from rivaline attraction due to its unfriendliness and a lack of a playful/teasing aspect, as well as a larger focus on competitiveness.

This attraction type can occasionally overlap with romantic, sexual or sensual attraction (and other similar attraction types) but rarely overlaps with platonic attraction

so, uh. i've noticed that objectix has gotten... popularized amongst the objectum community. it's not that big of a term, but it's become big enough that i felt it was important to make this.

we made a rentry to answer some questions and clear things up; mainly, why objectix was coined. this rentry is made entirely by us, the official coiner of objectix.

please give it a read if you have the time. although we don't identify as objectix anymore, or even objectum, the term is important to us, and it's important to us that people know how it came to be, why it came to be.

this isn't meant to be passive aggressive. we don't want to come off as rude. we're just... quite frankly, frustrated. this term wasn't meant to grow this popular, we didn't think it'd be this widely used. and now people are misinterpreting it. not many, but enough to feel significant.
