Our poor little socially awkward Kaji doesn't know how to make victory speeches... Luckily his lieutenants know what to do!

I'm actually legitimately sold on HiiraKaji though because of the whole of chapter 128 like. Yeah when he's pushed into a river and might drown, the thought of someone hurting Kaji so bad he curls up and regrets being alive makes Hiiragi kick into overdrive so hard he can keep going even though it's so cold out Banjo's body just gave out. Guy is fucking burning with rage. Kaji from Hiiragi's POV is just also really intimate and attentive. The way he remembers Kaji's small smile and the very honest things he says, soft confessions of a boy thanking Hiiragi for giving him a chance and learning how to navigate being chosen by others. He also remembers Kaji's despair, the way he could tell Kaji clearly never enjoyed being alone. Being a leader and looking out for his people just seems to come naturally to Hiiragi (already a very desirable trait, also difficult to depict in fiction) but you KNOW he's so proud of Kaji stepping up out of his wing, becoming a grade captain his class loves and advising his own kouhai. That Kaji didn't pass on exactly what Hiiragi said to Sakura, but the spirit of it put in his own words because he lived it. The way he really saw Kaji not for losing control or defeated, but knew that he fought to his wits' end. Told him he did a great job holding the fort. So so proud of him. I have fujo glasses and not like I don't ship HiiraSako or even HiiraSakoKaji but like Kaji actually chose to follow him out of his own will so. I think they should go on dates because Kaji doesn't give Hiiragi stomachaches and also Hiiragi obviously loves him more than words can say. Anyway.
