heels clicking on a marble floor, hands as cold as death, thick fabrics with an itchy lace trim, violins and pianos filling the air, feeling like you’re being watched, writing until your hands cramp, sewing needles and thread hidden under a pillow, whispers in the dark, sudden chills down your spine, mysterious bruises hidden beneath layers of clothes, slick blood on ice
a gap between crooked teeth, fingernails with dirt beneath them, dog fur clinging to your shirt, graphite-stained hands, a makeshift binder made from old clothes, your friend’s raspy laugh, a pair of shoes hanging from a wire, banned books hidden under a bed, spiked dog collars, a worn hat you refuse to take off, torn and stained t-shirts, long scars you refuse to hide

an oversized camo jacket around your shoulders, flies constantly buzzing around you, boots with mud stuck in the soles, homemade haircuts, dreams of worms in your skin, blood and gore staining the floorboards, the blowfly girl copypasta, dogs gnashing behind chain fences, tattoo-covered limbs, a torn flannel around your waist, greasy hair getting in your face, that constant feeling of dread in the air
