Realised that I’ve been RPing Oersted for about 8 months now and I’ve never actually shared the headcanons that I’ve adopted towards the Hate Man during that time. Not canon or universal ofc, everyone has their own version of a character, I just have a bad habit of swirling a Guy around in my head.
Grows little vines and grapes on himself when he gets stressed. If he’s in an exceptionally bad mental place, it wouldn’t be uncommon for him to be cocooned in them.
These vines are actually fully magical/made of Odio’s power. While the grapes can be eaten, it would just be like eating a cloud- it tricks your taste buds. The taste depends on how Oersted feels about the person- if he hates them, they’re toxic. But if he’s got mixed feelings/warmth to them, they’re sweet.
despite how long it has been, some of his old habits as a knight haven’t fully disappeared. He sees promises through- though it’s mostly because he despises being in debt to others.
has slitted pupils that more resemble an animal’s than a human, which also reacts according to emotion. yes, that also means his irises widen like a goof if he is in Danger Mode/excited.
he has full-body freckles that are more visible on his face! They become more prominent in the sun.
only sleeps for a few hours at a time- this is due to bad memories, and also because he’s used to being tormented by Lucrece’s Ghosts ™. He should probably fix that, but think he will with that nihilistic mind of his? Nope.
Soft spot for cats and dogs. They won’t betray him, after all.
After becoming Odio Brion rejects him, so he forms his own sword from the iron of the many killed during Lucrece’s destruction. The sword never leaves his side- as Odio, because he sees it as a testament to his resolve. As Oersted, to not forget how many died because of him. (I know it’s probably implausible but shush)
Backstory headcanon: he grew up in a tiny house with a disgraced family name, and had to fight to prove himself. His parents believed that he fought to bring the house’s name glory and to bring it up so that it’s capable of restoring its glory, but in reality, it’s because he wanted to be like the heroes from the fairytales that his mother used to read to him as a child. His father was a blacksmith, so he often used to forge his own weapons to use- and eventually repair Brion if it got damaged.
Has a secret love for storytelling because of this. I HC that he became friends with Streibough because his dramatic ass also had an interest in stories about dragons and glory. Would be a forever DM d&d guy if it was modern day.
Started pre-Odio as a golden retriever, post Odio became a hissing stray cat.
