Psychology side of tumblr can you explain why im only able to move on from the fact that i make a mistake that hurt someone’s feelings after i’m physically beaten for it

#aaart original #chronically ill #im forced to stand in place for my entire shift #they do have a stool for disabled people who need to sit but due to the store design you literally cannot use it #and despite having an otherwise pretty decent day in terms of my physical health #after a few hours today i reached the point of barely being able to understand speech or be able to talk #if i turned my head at a normal speed i’d get nearly-fainting levels of dizzy #and i realized at one point that my brain had shut down to the point that i had next to no feeling in one of my arms #(it functioned fine and didnt feel numb but I couldn’t register touch or weight with it.)#(which is very bad because my shoulders are at high dislocation risk and i need to be aware of how much im lifting)#i was drinking gatorade so i know i was hydrated and had plenty of electrolytes n stuff #but like everything instantly got better when i was able to sit down and then move around a bit #just #what am i doing here #jeopardizing my health for a nowhere position that doesnt even pay enough for me to cover ONE of my meds with insurance after a full day #of work before taxes n stuff #hopefully i’ll be getting hired for a new position soon but… i wont be able to move to that full time until january #im really scared

They’re referring me to another rheumatologist. I’ve already met with one of the top specialists in the state and he could not find anything physically or in lab work that indicated anything. I just had tests re-run, and naturally, they’re all normal. It’s the first conclusion literally any medical professional comes to, and for nearly three years now it’s just been “hmm, not that! Well, we’ll put you on the waiting list and see you again for the exact same thing in a few months.”

Why can’t they just accept that it’s not anything in that branch of chronic illness and test me for something else?

Happy birthday to me! My gift is… being told I’m “giving up” and pathetic for wanting my future to include pain management and increased capacity to function, with a mobility aid easily accessible and that I know how to use for the days when my body alone is not enough.

Apparently I’m “aiming too low” and shouldn’t even look into it until I’ve tried every non-aid or medication based treatment (for the still undiagnosed cause of my pain.)

Where do I see myself in 20 years? Hopefully free enough from the grip of ableism and lack of medical autonomy to still be alive.

does anyone have any tips and tricks for forearm crutches that they would be willing to share? i'm looking for my first pair and feeling very unsure where to start.

(also, related to this, does anyone have tips and tricks for walking a large, excitable dog while using crutches? lol)

#forearm crutches #for when i can maybe one day get them #idk if you got an answer about this cuz i know this is a kinda older post but #wrap the bit just before the grip of the leash around your hand #tho that might not work with a retractable/plastic grip leash #we do that with one of our dogs because shorter leash = better control #and having it wrapped helps keep it from getting yanked out of your hand #but depending on how much the dog pulls it might leave your wrist pretty sore so maybe have somethin as a brace so you dont lose circulation
