So when I was 13 years old I brought four girls to my building so we could play on the new football field. But then we wandered off and we had an experience that made the Hogwarts Houses make perfect sense to me. As the Harry Potter Resident Nerd™ of the school, I used to sort the kids into houses for fun. In the group that came to my place, there was one Ravenclaw, two Hufflepuffs and one Slytherin. And me, of course, the Do It For The Vine™ Gryffindor. My building was new so they hadn’t put security cameras or fences at places you shouldn’t go yet. But at the parking lot, there was a long, curved wall that was small at the beginning and very tall at the middle, so that meant you could climb it. Over it, there were trees and dirt and the view was nice. So us girls wandered there and I dared them to jump from the middle, having done that before a couple of times and knowing it was relatively safe. They were all in disbelief of that so I proved by climbing the wall at the smallest point, walking to the middle and jumping, laughing like a maniac and having the time of my life. They accepted the challenge then (except one, my very adorable small friend who was terrified of heights). So up next went my best friend, one of the two Hufflepuffs. I was cheering her on but she got very scared when she got at the tallest point of the wall and she sat down, terrified of jumping. The other Hufflepuff, who decided not jump because she was afraid of heights got under my best friend and she propped down, hung by her fingers and the other girl held her waist and helped her plop gracefully into the floor. The Ravenclaw went next. She was rather small too so when she got to the tallest point, she started to wonder out loud if it would hurt her feet more if she jumped or if she hung on the wall by her fingers (thus being closer to the floor) and simply let go. She decided to do that and soon she was on the floor, receiving our claps. Next and last was the Slytherin, the tallest one. The jump would probably not even hurt her feet because of how tall she was. She walked slowly and carefully to the middle of the wall and pointed to the building on the other side of the street and yelled something about someone stripping by a window. All of us looked and yelled “where?!” and she used that distraction to run to the closest end of the wall and smallest one, quickly jump and stand on the spot she would have been if she had jumped from the middle, leaning smoothly against the wall. She winked at us, called us morons and said she was now back to the football mood so went back to the field to play.
