"  you'd  have  to  perform  a  ritual  and  at  least  100  hours  of  community  service  .  they  abolished  human  sacrifices  years  ago  so  you’ll  have  to  settle  for  a  more  civilized  offering  ,  "  femme  responded  with  a  deadpan  expression  —  an  oscar-worthy  performance  if  you  asked  her  .  her  gaze  shifted  briefly  to  the  sea  and  then  back  to  the  male  .  "  i  did  more  than  say  hello  .  i  was  practically  conversational  .  i’d  say  we’re  on  a  first-name  basis  now  .  i  don’t  extend  my  endorsements  lightly  but  i  could  be  persuaded  to  put  a  good  word  in  .  "

"guess  the  ocean  and  i  are  going  to  have  to  stay  on  very  bad  terms,"  asher  jokes,  folding  his  arms  over  his  chest.  "be  honest,  how  many  people  have  you  successfully  trolled  with  this?  i'm  looking  for  some  entertainment  and  would've  wanted  to  see  it."  mind  you,  he  is  enjoying  his  time  just  fine,  but  there  must  be  someone  gullible  enough  to  fall  for  this.  it  makes  for  good  comedy.  he  lets  his  head  drop  back  for  a  moment  before  refocusing  his  attention  on  luiza.  a  slow,  lopsided  grin  curves  up  his  lips.  "come  on,  lu,  we  go  way  back,  don't  we?"  he  teases,  mischievous  spark  to  his  eyes.  "if  that's  not  persuasive  enough,  i  offer  refreshers."

"maggie,  you  know  i'm  fond  of  you,  but  i  have  no  idea  what  you  just  asked  me,"  asher  says,  blinking  in  confusion  before  letting  out  a  chuckle  and  shaking  his  head.  "you  haven't  had  too  much  to  drink  already,  have  you?  i'm  going  to  be  quite  offended  otherwise  for  not  inviting  me  to  drink  with  you."  asher  looks  at  the  fruit  she's  inspecting,  quirking  an  eyebrow  when  she  tastes  it.  "so,  what's  the  verdict  for  this  poor  fruit?"

“am   i   not   already?”   words   tumble   out   of   josie's   lips   with   a   wider   than   ever   smile,   giving   evelina   a   side   hug.   she   knew   her   time   not   spent   stressing   over   work   and   the   wedding   would   be   limited,   so   she   planned   to   enjoy   the   little   bit   of   freedom   that   came   with   an   all   expenses   paid   vacation   to   greece.   “oh   man.   that's   a   tough   one.   on   one   hand,   you   have   flowers.   and   on   the   other   hand,   *alcohol.*   did   you   mean   to   pick   options   that   couldn't   be   any   further   different?”   she   tilts   her   head   for   a   moment,   bringing   a   finger   to   her   chin   as   to   illustrate   her   dedication   to   this   dilemma.   “maybe   you   can   do   them   in   order?   make   yourself   some   cocktails   and   then   have   a   tipsy   little   walk   down   the   gardens?   unless,   you're   a   lightweight.   we   wouldn't   want   you   falling   into   the   bushes.   i'm   pretty   sure   they'll   fine   you   for   that.”

"you  are,  but  i'm  a  bit  forgetful,  so  you  need  to  save  me  again. it's been so long,"  evelina  teases lightly,  grinning  over  at  the  other  and  reciprocating  her  hug.  it's  a  good  thing  she's  a  sociable  person,  because  there's  so  many  people  she  wants  to  catch  up  with,  it's  a  whole  mission.  she  feels  bad  for  introverts,  their  social  battery  must  already  be  shot  by  now.  "see?  you  get  my  struggle!  the  gardens  seem  like  the  perfect  place  for  an  impromptu  photo  shoot."  she  looks  over  at  the  bar  then  at  the  entrance  of  the  gardens.  "we  can.  exploring  the  gardens  after  a  drink  sounds  wonderful."  she  laughs  lightly.  "no.  well,  kind  of.  but  i  can  handle  a  drink.  falling  day  one  into  the  bushes  would  be  so  embarrassing.  can't  ruin  my  reputation  so  early  on."  she's  not  planning  to  get  drunk  on  the  first  day  of  celebrations.  that's  something  for  much  later.  she  expects  the  same  out  of  most  people  too.

SOMEHOW,    he  always  finds  himself  into  scenarios  like  this  —  though  it  could  be  worse.  he  could  be  chasing  off  paparazzi  again,  nearly  crashing  his  car  into  theirs  just  for  a  semblance  of  payback.  but  there's  no  need  to  graham  to  do  that.  instead,  he  lifts  the  sunglasses  to  his  head  and  thinks.  “well  it's  not  like  you  need  to  decide  now,”  that  part  is  only  kind  of  true.  he's  scared  for  whatever  his  brother  and  his  soon-to-be-wife  have  in  store  for  the  rest  of  the  summer.  left  one  reality  show  for  another.  “why  would  you  prepare  cocktails  when  you  can  just  ..  have  them  made  for  you?”  says  the  rich  boy.  “seems  way  easier,  no  offense.” 

"i  kinda  do,  because  time's  running  out.  chop  chop."  evelina  taps  the  imaginary  watch  on  her  hand,  grinning  over  at  him.  "there's  a  lot  to  do  and  you  never  know  what's  coming  next,  right?  so,  tell  me,  what's  caught  your  attention?"  she  asks,  curious.  "unless  you're  planning  to  chill  here  and  just  get  lost  in  thought,  which  is  lame,  because  you  could  be  hanging  out  with  me  instead."  she  shrugs  at  his  words.  normally,  she  would  agree  with  him.  she  likes  when  things  come  to  her,  but  she's  feeling  creative  today  and  she  wants  to  make  her  own  cocktail.  the  bar  is  huge.  "it  is  easier,  but  is  it  as  fun?  debatable.  come  on,  we'll  have  fun.  you  could  create  the  next  best  cocktail,"  she  jokes.  "alright,  how  about  this?  i'll  make  you  a  drink  and  you  make  me  one.  surprise  me,  graham."

“ this . . . is how history gets written. someone makes one completely arbitrary decision and in ten years, you'll be telling people: everything changed because a woman at a wedding picked my right hand. ” her lips purse as she studies the choices with exaggerated focus before nudging the left fist. an eyebrow starts arching up in question, “ so, uhm, what's the verdict ? ”

"sorry,  didn't  mean  to  scare  you.  you  definitely  look  like  you're  trying  to  hide  something.  your  words  don't  help  your  case,"  evelina  jokes,  eyes  drifting  down  to  the  other's  phone.  really,  in  a  place  like  this,  surrounded  by  so  many  people,  subtlety  is  a  hard  feat.  there's  eyes  everywhere,  and  that's  something  she  had  to  learn  growing  up.  she  quirks  her  eyebrow  in  the  other's  direction.  "you  know  what,  yeah.  i  am  making  history."  a  smug  expression  forms  on  her  face.  "and  i  guess  you're  part  of  it,"  she  adds,  tone  playful.  for  a  moment,  evelina  forgets  what  her  right  hand  designated,  so  she  decides  again  on  the  spot.  "it's  the  cocktails."  she  couldn't  resist  the  colorful  cocktails.  people  drink  at  wedding  celebrations.  "good  choice!"

❛ my favorite thing to be ! ❜  rhiannon grins widely at her best friend, knowing that she's feeling like a kid in a candy store. weddings were always something the two talked about growing up— browsing through magazines and daydreaming as teenagers. now, she could only imagine what was going through the other's head. it was only a matter of time before the two of them checked off every single activity on that list. eyes trailing down to stare at the each fist that decided their fate, the female presses her lips together in thought, while knowing well enough that both would be done regardless.  ❛ my vote would definitely be on the cocktails first, ❜ she nods.  ❛ 'cause wouldn't it be nice to have a little drink in your hand while we peruse the gardens? think about it, evie. ❜

"what  would  i  do  without  you?"  evie  moves  to  link  her  arm  with  rhi's.  with  how  busy  life  has  gotten  and  how  demanding  her  career  is,  she  makes  sure  to  use  the  downtime  she  gets to herself and her loved ones.  it  so  happens  that  this  wedding  has  grouped  so  many  people  she  knows  in  one  place.  it's  a  win-win!  she  taps  her  lips,  as  if  she's  contemplating  the  other's  words,  but  they  both  know  she's  going  to  agree.  it's  precisely  why  she  asked  for  an  opinion,  not  wanting  to  make  the  decision  herself.  it's  good  enough  she  narrowed  the  list  to  begin  with!  she's still  going  to  do  all  the  activities  as  long  as  time  allows.  "hm,  i  agree.  i'm  picturing  us  with  mimosas  as  we  take  a  walk.  i  like  the  image  a  lot.  i've  been  eyeing  those  cocktails.  seems  like  there's  some  bartender  specials.  i'm  curious."

“  i  gotta  say  those  are  words  i  never  thought  someone  would  say  to  me,  ”  his  body  turning  to  glance  over  from  where  he  had  been  observing  all  of  details  of  the  day's  events.  the  level  of  detail  going  into  the  beginning  of  the  wedding  events  didn't  surprise  him,  not  really,  still  it  was  a  testament  to  how  the  rest  of  the  month  would  go.  “  i  feel  like  drinks  before  the  garden  will  make  the  garden  much  more  amusing  for  us  to  adventure  through  but  i'm  a  gambling  man.  left  hand.  but  if  you  hate  the  answer  i  am  not  taking  responsibility.  no  one  should  ever  let  me  make  the  decisions.  ”

"i  live  to  surprise  people,"  evelina  jokes.  "why,  are  you  usually  trouble?"  there's  a  lot  happening  around  them.  she  hasn't  even  given  herself  the  chance  to  really  check  everything  out.  unsurprisingly,  everything  is  so  beautifully  immaculate.  she  can't  wait  to see what more is in store what  more  is  in  store.  "adventure,  you  say?  you  might  be  baiting  me  right  now."  she  laughs  lightly.  "you  know  what?  we'll  have  drinks  first  and  then  venture  through  the  gardens.  you'll  tell  me  all  about  your  previous  decisions.  sounds  like  you've  got  a  ton  of  stories  there."

❝    i'll   be   your   saviour   -   but   you're   thinking   way   too   small.   ❞     brown   hues   access   the   other   as   she   considers   the   only   options   given.   there's   many   other   things   for   them   to   do   -   but   if   these   are   the   options   she   prefers,   well   -   blonde   wont   be   the   one   to   change   her.     ❝     why   choose   one   or   the   other,   when   it   can   be   both.   wouldn't   the   gardens   be   so   much   better   with   some   aperol   on   the   side   ?     ❞

if  she  had  all  the  time  in  the  world today,  evelina  would  try out all the different activities  offered.  but  with  the  little  time,  she  had  to  narrow  down  her  options  greatly.  considering  it's  so  early  in  the  day,  she  wanted  to  start  slow.  still,  she'll  attempt  to  do  everything.  "i  like  the  way  you  think!  that's  even  better.  that'll  give  us  time  to  do  other  things  as  well.  i  need  some  pictures  by  the  gardens  too."  she  had  newly  gotten  this  dress  and  it'd  be  such  a  shame  not  to  take  pictures  of  herself  in  it.  "have  you  managed  to  do  anything  yet?"

❝    good   thing   you   can   jump   in   the   ocean   and   burn   all   that   excess   energy,   isn't   it?     ❞    teases,   as   she   reaches   for   a   second,   already   carefully   planning   the   run   for   the   morning   after.   ❝    and   not   my   recipes,   no   -   but   things   i'll   be   trying   the   minute   we   get   home.   so   you   need   to   taste   the   real   thing   first.     ❞

"ah.  so  that's  what  it's  all  about,"  asher  begins,  a  slight  pause  for  the  theatrics  of  it  all,  before  a  playfully  cheeky  grin  curves  up  his  lips.  "you  want  to  see  my  abs."  he  moves  to  take  a  bite  out  of  the  loukoumades,  letting  out  a  hum  of  satisfaction.  "those  are  really  good.  how  many  have  you  had  so  far?"  he  jokes.  "you're  right.  though,  we're  on  vacation.  stop  thinking  about  work."

part   between   brims   disappears   as   brunette   starts   talking   to   him,   swallows   the   air   so   lungs   can   prepare   for   whatever   is   coming.   removes   sunglasses   from   his   face,   pink   tongue   touching   temple   tips   as   hip   is   slightly   cocked   before   dragging   specs   away   again.   “   are   you   certain   you   want   those   two   options   as   your   final   two   ?   ”  doesn't   particularly   care   about   her   issue   but   full   lips   turn   upwards   with   question   marks   etched   into  his   sunkissed   flesh.   "   but   what   if   i   make   the   wrong   choice   ?   what   will   you   do   to   me   then   ?   "

"yes,  i'm  certain.  i  studied  this  very  carefully.  though,  you  look  like  you  don't  like  them.  please  don't  hold  back."  evelina  places  her  hands  on  her  hips,  waiting  for  whatever  nicholas  wants  to  say.  she's  not  surprised  by  his  reaction,  still  she's  amused.  she  studies  his  features,  quirking  her  eye.  she  pretends  to  be  thinking  this  through.  "well,  i'll  punish  you  of  course,"  she  teases,  cheeky  glint  to  her  eyes.  "so  choose  wisely,  nicholas."

⋆.°    ᝰ.ᐟ     maxine is barely paying attention as her fingers work to twist her hair up into a perfectly loose yet put together up-do to secure with a claw clip.  so evelina’s sudden presence did surprise her a little.  “  honestly you’re so right though.  there’s so much to do,  it really is hard to pick one.  ”  lips twist up in thought at the two options the other woman presented.  “  so i think we should start off with exploring the gardens and then unwind with cocktails.  i don’t know how long it’s gonna take us to explore the gardens but we might be tired after that and that’s when we can reward ourself with cocktails  !  ”

"and  there's  not  enough  time.  i  even  want  to  try  out  some  beach  activities,  but  i  think  it's  better  to  leave  those  for  the  end,  because  i'll  want  a  nice  nap  after."  evelina  can't  remember  the  last  time  she  had  a  proper  vacation,  and  she's  counting  this  wedding  as  that.  just  an  opportunity  to  unwind,  have  fun  with  people,  drink,  and  witness  love  right  before  her  eyes.  evelina  taps  a  freshly  manicured  nail  to  her  lips  in  contemplation.  "you've  got  a  point.  there's  a  ton  of  colorful  cocktails,  i  was  getting  distracted,  but  it'll  be  more  worth  it  if  we  do  it  afterwards.  besides,  the  weather  is  beautiful  for  a  walk."

“  did  you  say  hello  ?  ”  chocolate  hues  fixated  on  her  watercolor  book  ,  trying  to  capture  the  exact  hue  of  aegean  blue  .  finally  ,  she  looked  up  at  the  other  through  her  sunglasses  .   “  —  to  the  sea  ,  ”  pointing  at  the  crystalline  water  using  the  tip  of  her  brush  .  “  my  server  insisted  to  always  greet  the  sea  .  there's  an  etiquette  to  the  ocean  here  .  greeting  it  is  apparently  the  first  rule  .   she  remembers  those  who  dont  ...  ”  she  said  with  a  shrug  .  now  ,  luiza  wasn't  supersitious  but   there  was  something  about  old  customs  ,  especially  the  ones  that  had  survived  centuries  ,  that  she  found  difficult  to  dismiss  entirely  . 

"to  the  what?"  asher's  brows  furrow,  confusion  crossing  his  features.  for  a  moment,  he  believes  he's  being  trolled.  he  looks  over  at  the  sea  then  back  at  luiza,  taking  off  his  sunglasses.  "can't  say  i  have.  shit,  i  broke  the  first  rule  already.  what'll  happen  to  me  now?"  he  asks,  playful  and  amused  glint  to  his  eyes.  of  course,  he  doesn't  believe  any  of  that,  but  he'll  play  along.  maybe  it's  the  server  trolling  her  in  the  first  place.  "did  you  say  hello?  if  so,  you'll  have  to  put  a  good  word  in  all  things  considered."

locked   out   of   her   room   ,   key   inside   ,   forgotten   on   tousled   bed   sheets   after   spending   hours   trying   to   find   an   outfit   the   night   before   .   just   her   damn   luck   .   took   the   morning   to indulge   a   cold   plunge   ,   body   akin   to   the   nature   of   a   wet   cat   --   shivering   as   she   stands   with   a   towel   tucked   to   frame   ,   trying   to   find   someone   to   get   her   back   in   but   concierge   needs   proof   of   identity   and   her   purse   is   ,   well   ,   also   locked   away   somewhere next   to   her   key   card   . "no   ,   really   .   i   swear   with my whole fucking heart ,   it's   me   .   trust   ,   there   isn't   anyone   in   the   world   who   would   want   to   pretend   to   be   me   .   just   google   me   --   or   ,   actually   ,   don't   ."   there's   a   video   still   circling   ,   several   years   later   ,   of   her   indecency   that   since   has   not   fallen   discreet   .

asher  doesn't  immediately  make  his  way  over  to  her,  standing  a  few  feet  away  just  watching  it  all  go  down.  he's  bored  enough  to  see  where  it'll  all  go  before  he  chooses  the  right  time  to  intervene.  maybe  he  finds  this  entertaining!  eventually,  he  heads  towards  her  and  the  concierge,  standing  next  to  anastasia,  nodding  over  at  the  concierge.  "now  what  do  i  get  for  coming  to  your  aid?"  he  teases,  leaning  back  against  the  wall.  "you  know,  you  shouldn't  be  encouraging  people  to  google  you  if  you  have  something  you  want  to  hide.  people  are  nosy."  his  gaze  shifts  from  anastasia  towards  the  concierge.  "let  her  in,  will  you?  she's  honest.  cross  my  heart  and  hope  to  die, whatever they say."

"these  look  like  they'll  give  me  the  craziest  sugar  rush,  nana,"  asher  says.  he  might  be  complaining,  but  it  doesn't  matter  because  he  reaches  for  one  anyway.  he  can't  always  resist  the  sweet  tooth.  "i  hope  you  won't  make  me  try  everything.  they  aren't  your  recipes,  so i'm technically  off  the  clock."
