Taeyong’s alarm clock wakes him up, and he rushes to turn it off before you could hear it from your side of the bed. The sun hasn’t come up yet, it’s rays just peaking over the horizon but enough of it spilled into the room for him to see your sleeping figure through his tired eyes. Taeyong slowly moves closer to you, a little saddened that the two of you moved so far away from each other during the night, and uses a gentle finger to move your bed hair away to see your face fully. You move towards his touch and he sleepily giggles at the way you reacted to him while still unconscious. The low lighting on your skin and the steady rise and fall of your chest put Taeyong into a trance as he suddenly realized he did not want to get out of bed… At all.

In the back of his mind he thought over the list of things he had to do today, adding another item: spend the morning with you. He gently collected you into his arms and kissed your forehead, trying not to wake you up knowing you will kill him if you’re up before the sun is. As you continue sleeping in his arms, Taeyong uses this time to relish in how calm you are and how peaceful the house is, which was not a regular occurrence.

The filled, hectic schedules both of you have experienced for the past few weeks had weighed you guys down, but as the smell of your shampoo reached Taeyong’s nose and your steady breath soothed his skin, he felt grateful for having someone like you in his life- someone to share the hectic times with so that these types of mornings could be treasured. Keeping you close to him in this moment was all that he needed to give him some strength, to keep him sane, and to finally relax a little after so much tension in his life.

Eventually, your eyelids fluttered open as the sun began to peek into the room and a sleepy smile lifted your cheeks when you felt strong arms tighten around you. “Good morning” Taeyong muttered, his morning voice sending chills down your spine. “You’re finally up.”
