Swarovski bangles made by my gf Justynie's Jewels. She asked me to take the photos and suggested that I build some sort of soft/light box to better capture the crystals. Turns out that multi-faceted gemstones can be quite challenging to photograph since there are so many cuts (and thus reflective surfaces). After an afternoon of building a ~$40 DIY softbox using 3 simple desk lamps, some kitchen parchment paper, and an Amazon cardboard box, I lit the stage for her beautiful creations. Shot with a 100mm macro lens on a mark ii. Softbox lights utilized were 60W bright white bulbs with a little post in lightroom.
