Palermo wasn’t a great captain overall, but the plan was his (and Berlin’s). The only times he let his feelings take over when it was about Berlin (and later on his teammates): he “beated” up Garcia only because he insulted Nairobi, he lashed out at Nairobi when talking about love and the worst thing he did was try to mess up the plan because Tokyo decided to take control (when it wasn’t necessary at all btw). YES I agree what he did was very childish but genuinely he planned this heist with Berlin and studied it for a long time (9-8 years give or take) and in that moment he didn’t deserve to have his role taken away by Tokyo. I get it that she’s the protagonist and everything but she’s very impulsive and would’ve done shit as a captain, Berlin and Palermo were fit to be captains even tho Berlin was egocentric and Palermo has bpd (this is a hc for me but its really implied) it doesn’t mean they’re not fit. Everyone on the crew got problems but for me Palermo has lead the heist the best he could, making him the most valuable leader out of all of them (also the argument that some of them have been there for “longer” doesn’t make sense since Marsiglia, Bogota, Berlin and Palermo have been there before the first heist)
