Hello! Thank you kindly for your lovely words! In terms of shooting landscapes, have a go at choosing something to study and work around that. I got nice and caught up on shooting the last/first slithers of light at dusk/dawn and the relationship that light had with the environment i was in, I also always try and keep and eye out for geometry and patterns i find in nature. Ultimately i’d like my work to come across as almost humorous landscapes; finding odd little details that look a bit silly. Though I’m a long way from having an eye for this yet! If you find a particular details or isolate something in your landscape, you can also try shooting it as more of a portrait of that detail than a grand landscape. But again, these are things i’m working toward too!
In terms of post-production, try and figure out what you want to bring out of your image, go gangbusters on getting those nice tones and all that jazz, but if there’s something you want to make pop, figure out a way to do that, whether that’s composition, bringing colour out of things, pulling colour out of things, but i usually aim for a gentle touch! Hopefully the original photo contains most of the magic already!
