As a symbol for conclusion of the healing I invited guests to open up their hearts and be mindful in the most successful healing techniques I had used over the week, and as a communal effort I hoped this would provide enough energy to make a real difference if only for a moment. 

My carefully laid pine cones around each of the pillars had been scattered, for this reason I felt the putting the pine cones in groups of three would protect them from the elements and unaware passers by. 

On returning, the pine needles had blown away. This I felt the need for something longer lasting than a quick fix, I decided again to use pine, but the cones helped me to provide a cure in a wholesome gesture to the space. 

The stones and shells i felt lacked a certain power in healing deeper than surface level, for this reason I called again on pine, filling the cracks in the ground with the pine to provide a genuine cure. 

The distinct lack attention payed to the cracks in the ground of the underpass today called out for healing. to even out the surface level I filled each of the cracks with a number of the best pebbles and shells I could find on the beach. 

The grass had been cut in the gardens, filling the air with a freshness that hadn't reached as far as the underpass. I felt it my duty to scatter the grass in the space. 

In the bright sunlight the space felt darker and colder than ever, in an attempt to draw in the heat and light of the sun I carefully brushed the sand that had been lying in the sun into the shadow of the underpass to lift the space.

The sparkle of the sea water had faded leaving again a void in between the spaces. I felt the underpass could do with some animals visitors from the gardens to occupy and bring life into the space. Using sweet corn I left a trail for the ducks and squirrels to find. 

On returning to the space I found the sand had virtually disappeared, this meant my focus had shifted. I noticed the bright sparkling sea water and felt the space could benefit from its healing properties.

Returning to the space I found the sand had been blown and kicked out of the initial connecting pathway. I felt a more heart felt action was needed in order for the healing of the path to be felt, for this reason I decided to use my broom and follow a rule of three to control the positing of the sand.

'Improvements' my first day of work as part of 'encounter' our 10 day group exhibition in the Lower Gardens Bournemouth. Bridging the space between the gardens and the sea front using my pine broom to heal, first forming a path using the sand in the space. 

Preparation of the pine tea bags I will be distributing to curious visitors in the gardens during my performance, taking on the mothering and healing role of the goddess of pine and purity Rhea.

Dirt and weeds only exist when a system is in place. 

Helping the sea front staff collect the sand from the promenade that had collected in just one day me aware of how much maintenance needs to be put in place in order to keep the space accessible and presentable for the general public. Their 7 day week starts at 5am and lasts until 1pm in summer, clearing sand and depositing it back onto the beach.
