For this brief of moving image. I was inspired by Un Chien Andadlou, when watching it I felt very suspenseful and squeamish during the moment before he cuts the eye open. I decided that I wanted to create gifs with moments of suspense in them, I decided to end my gifs where before the action like in the movie where it fades to a moon just before the cut.

I chose to keep the images in black and white because things are generally more scary without colour added. I added high contrast in the images to make it more bold. I think the shaky effect could be effective in distorting the image too however I think if I shot it again I would make it more clear.

I put my images in a comic style collage. I showed a different look in each individual panel to show all different kinds of women and then I put the background as the global drawing to show that they exist on earth.

These are some of my edited images. I changed the hair to make it yellow to keep with the style of Lichtenstein.

These are the different looks I created for the shoot which I think does express a variation of different types of people. I did include a crying girl like Lichtenstein does because I think its important to still show they are people even though I am presenting some images which give off strength.

A project on paying homage to another artist. I decided that I wanted to pay homage to Roy Lichtenstein. I was looking through his work and discovered that the women in the work were one dimensional and very dependent on men.

So through this I was going to keep with his style and pay homage to that but changing the subject slightly to show a different variation of women. I even kept the same style of model which he often uses whom is blonde and pale. To keep his style in photography I will edit the hair bright colours and exaggerate the features that he has exaggerated through drawing.

For this brief I was looking at the news story of The Interview movie and how it was banned in America and the peoples reaction towards that. I begun to see the Americans were very patriotic and will support their country no matter what it stands for.

I wanted to show that maybe patriotism isn't so great, and maybe we should question our countries motives.

I chose to distort passports using the scanner/scanography as they are a strong item which represents your nationality.

This is my final piece for the Listening Exhibition. I wanted to show that listening is different to hearing because of the neurological response that Listening has which hearing doesn't. Also curator Sam Belinfante wanted to explore the act of listening and I thought that this was a significant difference in listening to hearing.

Then I wanted to explore brain scans being projected on the face but to do this I used fairy lights of colours blue, red and yellow which are the main colours featured in brain scans and held them to a face to get this effect I think that it was successful but I need to develop the actual concept further because the images don't convey exactly what I wanted because I was focusing on the technique.

This is my first shoot for my Listening project which I decided to take the route of looking at the neurological response to listening. I was interested in looking at brain scans and how your brain becomes more active through listening.

In this image I wanted to show there are three levels of Listening which are, alerting,  deciphering and understanding. The first level is when your brain is least engaged but the last level it is most engaged and I wanted to show this through bringing more light in and it becoming more clear.

These are my initial photograms from the dark room, where we did camera-less photography. We used light sensitive paper and light to create these.

I put my images in for 20 seconds initially but discovered that was too light and underexposed, so we tried 32 and it was a lot better and I did the rest of my photograms under that exposure time.
