Imagine this: You have a condition (that you were born with and cannot cure) that makes your body not aligned with your brain—you are built fundamentally wrong according to your own mind. This gives you great distress due to the incongruence between your body and mind.

Now, you know other people out in the world suffer from the same thing, and they all have the same root problem shown by the same symptom, which is the great distress from the incongruence of body and mind. There are treatments for this, and you would be able to get them, if this condition weren't so scorned by the general public.

Why is it scorned? Because it usually reads as sexual deviancy instead of pain. This is only heighened by the fact there are people out there taking this condition—taking its name—and skinning it and putting it on everything it is not like a fur coat. These people say it is prideful, and doesn't need any symptoms. It is reverred as an inherently sexual freakishness and weirdness to be proud of by them.

...and these people have convinced the general public this is all your condition is, by speaking over everyone who actually has it, and calling them bigoted. They have turned all of the treatments into cosmetics instead of live-saving care. So you will never be able to afford them, as someone who really needs them to feel comfortable in your own sick, sick skin.
