saw a reel of someone arguing “of course” taylor got “permission” from gracie to name her song the same title and i fear that a lot of you have created such elaborate fantasy worlds where you’ve deluded yourselves that you know intimate conversations and relationships that taylor has with others but also that you accept them as fact until it comes out that not only was it not true, but the opposite occurred and you feel betrayed because you feel like you didn’t know a popstar that is so far away and inaccessible to you that she might as well be living in a different galaxy.

so yesterday my husband messaged his sister to ask how it was going (she didn’t respond all day), he messaged her kids (they didn’t respond), he asked the group chat if everything was ok (no response), he called their phones (no one picked up), then finally he had to call his mom (who lives in a different state and time zone) what was going on with his sister (who lives ten minutes from our house) only to find out she had guests over. btw she picked up her other brother’s call (who also lives in a different state) and she finally called back at the end of the day after my mother-in-law called her and told her to call us. and it’s…..weird af because this isn’t the first time this has happened

sometimes i get annoyed by stuff my in-laws do but then i remember these people are really just mentally ill and that makes it better

and it’s not that i’m solely disappointed in the way that our potential as a collective force as a people is being degraded and replaced with “doggy want a treat” culture…but that everyone is WILLFULLY misinformed and keeps repeating shit that makes no sense in the reality that we’re currently living??

and i feel anger at the fact that politics are what other people around the world have to live through and survive and yet in america it’s simply something you “take an interest in” like gossiping about a popstar all day…man like fuck y’all i’m sorry

the us is once again at war and yet the average american doesn’t care about it more than a vague annoyance at rising gas prices and petty celeb drama. i don’t know that a more apathetic and ignorant class of people exists anywhere else in the world…
