Just finished Genny’s Hufflpuff outfit. The house colors are yellow and black and the house is known as helpful, pleasant and hard workers. So, I was looking for an outfit that was bright, fun and would be practical. Very happy with how it came out, especially her little pocket 😁. All of this is from patterns in the My Felt Doll book creates by Shelly Down aka Gingermelon on Etsy.
This Genny, short for Genevieve. I made her from Gingermelon’s My Felt Doll book. So much fun to see. So, I’m in the process of creating an outfit for each Hogwarts house for her and I started with my personal house, Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff is almost done.
This week: Form follows function! You can tell a lot about a bird by its wings.
I don’t want to live any longer in this world of “the customer is always right.” This is a world that shows the aggressive, the bull-headed, the cruel that they have full license to behave like beasts to get what they want. Half the time, they’re even rewarded for it; “here, ma'am, so sorry for the trouble, please accept this gift card–no charge.”
I want to live in a world that punishes these childish adults as you punish a toddler throwing a tantrum. No candy for you, Jimmy; you’re going home to bed if you can’t mind yourself in public.
Throw a hissy fit because your cashier isn’t moving as fast as you’d like? Find yourself gently escorted from the store until you can show some basic compassion and patience.
Hurl a pen across the table at your signing agent? You’ve just forfeited your right to refinance your mortgage this week. Try again when your temper is managed.
Scream obscenities at the Taco Bell rep because you know it’ll earn you a free soft shell? Here’s your money back; please feel free to play again when you’ve realized fast food is not worth more than the price of human dignity.
I am so sick of accepting–and, in truth, rewarding–these callous behavior patterns in customer service industries. The fact is, the customer is not always right. The customer is often just testing to see what he can get away with. Stop pandering to spoiled children, and show your employees they have more value than their red polo, or how much abuse they can withstand in a 40-hour week.
We are here to provide a service and to make a living.
We are not your punching bags.

FOREWARNING TO THOSE WHO BUY FROM @hauntcouture
if you own any dresses from haunt couture with black fabric please be aware that they can potentially stain your dolls. I recently discovered 3 @hauntcouture dresses i bought have stained my dolls, ranging from moderate to severe, the severe being the bratz body.

I have contacted them and they have offered to refund me but unfortunately that doesn’t fix or compensate me for the awful, bruise like stains my beloved dolls are now plagued with. poor cloe looks like she was beaten :(
I just think its the right thing to do to post about this publicly because i know alot of people buy outfits from @hauntcouture and chances are there are ppl out there who have these outfits on very expensive and HTF dolls. I was fortunate enough to only have this happen to fairly common doll bodies, finding a replacement clawdeen and ghoulia shouldn’t be too difficult but i’m pretty upset about cloe considering articulated bratz bodies aren’t that common or inexpensive and i just started collecting them :(
Well I didn’t want to be the bad guy but I will speak my truth. This transaction was over a year old. 14 months to be exact. John asked for compensation beyond clothes or a refund. He told me, and I quote “you have tons of dolls can’t you send me some?”. He didn’t care for his money back. He wanted something more in return. I am extremely sorry his dolls were stained but if they were in the dresses for possibly 6 months to a year that is something beyond my control. The attacks are really quite rude and hurtful. I’ve been very kind to him in our exchanges and like I told him my goal is not to cause anyone distress over a doll dress.
I've bought from Haunt Couture and have nothing but good things to say about them. They do beautiful work for amazing prices.
As for the staining -- any doll collector knows that dark clothes can stain dolls. There are plenty of Heaths out there stained by the oven mitt and jacket that came with him from Mattel. When he came out I remember reading a lot of posts about it. So, staining from dark clothes is not a defect of the clothes, it is a risk to be researched.
Look who just joined the cavern!
This lovely lady was made from patterns from threadfollower. The chimeras mad sure to give her a poncho since its been so rainy here.
Cheshie hanging out in the couch with Spot who is now ready for the circus. Wish I could get the time to go see Cirque de Sewer and show her to the rats, cat and their pet human. They inspired Spot’s final look and I think they might like him. Anyone who has a chance to see them should definitely go ( http://www.cirquedusewershow.com/ ) And anyone that wants a fun, versatile mouse pattern should check out Gingermelon’s shop
Introducing the newest creation from the cavern. This is Spot. He got his name from the brown felt used to correct a mistake. I was going to add other spots but I thin he's adorable as is. I made him from a pattern and felt from the talented Gingermelon. His next friend is already in the works.
The chimeras have finally gotten a break from the holiday wars and have added some fun new items to the shop. Pop over to their etsy shop and check it out: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChimeraCavern I'll see you there!!
