I Dunno About All That

Y'know. When we first met, I never thought this was the kind of post I'd be making right now. When we first met, you were just a really famous Hero and I just a normal Civilian. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that we would have ended up friends, certainly never together! And now, look at us, we're married!

But, that's not what this post is about. I mean, it is, but not.

Today marks the day that you came up to me and said you wanted to be more than just friends. The day that, you looked at me and said you wanted to go out, but not as friends(I still remember the way you worded that, btw).

I remember what an absolute disaster that first date was, and how it almost prevented us from actually getting together, and I also remember how I was the one who decided to try again. I'll never forget the way you looked so confused, but had this little glimmer of hope in your eye. You really did love me then, didn't you, birdie? I almost feel bad that I didn't. Not yet, at least. Not in that way.

I do now, though. Gods above, do I now. I feel for you what I never thought I could feel for anyone. None of my past relationships have ever made me feel this way, and only a single other after comes close. You mean more to me than words in any language could ever possibly describe. You are my sun, my light, my life. You are everything to me, Keigo. And I don't just say that to say it, I mean it. Really, truly, mean it.

I would not be where I am were it not for you. So many things have happened because I met you. In you, I found the first love of my life, through you, I met the second, and with you, I helped create the third.

But, absolutely none of that would have happened had you not stopped my dumbass from walking into traffic. Who knew mindlessness would land me where it did? Thanks to you, my life has changed for the better, into something I want to hold onto forever. And with you by my side, I know I can.

I never imagined myself getting to this point in my life. I don't honestly know if I ever imagined anything at all for me, truthfully. But you've literally given me a future, Keigo. A future I want to see through to the end, with you, for you, because of you. I want to see where this road takes us, and I can't wait to see what twists and turns it takes us on.

So, with all this to say, and more that I definitely didn't, here's to us, pretty bird. Happy Anniversary.

I love you, so so so much! You mean the world to me, baby boy. You quite literally showed me what love was! From just how deeply it could run to just how strongly it could hold.

My world was shaded in gray before you walked in and now I can't keep up with the colors. Every day it seems like I discover new hues and saturations that I never thought possible. Vibrant splashes across a blank canvas, bleeding and smearing into a vast rainbow.

It is thanks to you that I was able to discover what not only love, but life was meant to be. Before I met you, my life was merely existence. I wasn't living then, but boy am I now.

Thanks to you, I have experienced more joy in these past 6 years than I have in the entirety of the 22 years that I lived before that. Thanks to you, I have learned what it means to live. Truly, really live. Not just day to day, but every second. To love is to live, and now I really do understand the meaning of that phrase.

You're my first, pup. And by the gods, I mean it when I say you'll also be my last. I know, deep in my soul, that there will never, ever, be another you. No one could ever come close. You literally showed me all that love has to offer. In all ways. Metaphorical, literal, physical, and metaphysical. In everything, you were the one who I experienced it all with.

Thanks to you, I learned that I have not one, but two soulmates. And thanks to you, I now also have the world's most perfect little girl. You gave all of that to me, Michael. And so very, very much more.

And it is thanks to you that I will continue to discover new ways to love, and live, and see.
