In the context of Final Fantasy VII, her internal conflict mirrors the cosmic pull between Holy and Black Materia: her celestial half striving to protect, heal, and commune with souls, while her demonic-Jenova hybrid nature threatens to unleash cataclysmic, life-draining destruction. Physical Disability / Broken Wings: Despite possessing a massive 9.92-foot wingspan, her humerus bones were deliberately shattered by Hojo at age four. Her wings are strictly ornamental and constant sources of chronic pain/arthritis, serving as a permanent visual metaphor for her stolen freedom. She cannot fly. She cannot really move her wings at all. And she has never been in the air like Angeal, Genesis, and Sephiroth. When they fly, one of them, usually Sephiroth, will carry her.

Cosmic Horror True Form: Beneath her human facade lies a 55-foot draconic Phoenix made of writhing tendrils, miasma, and reality-ripping talons.

Saintly Monster / Combat Medic: Known publicly as the "Angel of Shinra" and to the infantry as the "Saint of SOLDIER." Despite her corrupted, life-draining powers, her innate nature is deeply compassionate, driving her to run into live battlefields to heal and comfort dying foot soldiers.

Masked Trauma / Coping Through Mischief: Her fatal flaw is her refusal to process emotional pain directly. She hides her deep-seated trauma behind bad puns, teasing, rebellion, boundary-pushing, and playful antics.

Propaganda Piece / Corporate Mascot: Shinra uses her as a PR tool to humanize the SOLDIER program and soften Sephiroth's public image, parade-dressing her as a saintly "Angel" while secretly subjecting her to vivisection in the basements. They are known as the 1st Family of SOLDIER.

Tragic Motherhood: She endures relentless reproductive trauma—six miscarriages and three stillbirths due to her chaotic hybrid biology and Hojo’s injections—before successfully giving birth to her twins in exile.

The Morality Pet / Anchor: Her presence and emotional warmth act as the primary spiritual shield preventing Sephiroth from losing his sanity to Jenova’s telepathic calls during the Nibelheim mission.

Secret Keeper / Well-Intentioned Deception: Out of a protective desire to shield Sephiroth’s tender heart from the pain of Genesis’s degradation and defecting, she keeps Genesis’s secret ultimatum to herself: a silence that inadvertently haunts her with intense guilt during the Genesis War where she had tried many times to reach her degrading best friend, as she tries to persuade him to stop the madness.

The Black and White Materia and the Struggle Between Celestial and Demonic Light and the War Within

Final Fantasy VII’s entire narrative revolves around the fundamental tension between planetary preservation (Holy/Lifestream) and cosmic erasure (Black Materia/Jenova/Meteor). By anchoring Bianca's dual lineage to this specific framework, her internal struggle ceases to be an isolated personal quirk.

Her struggle becomes a symbolism of the Planet’s own cosmic war. She isn't just a fantasy hybrid dropped into Midgar. Her very soul operates on the exact tension that govern Gaia.

In the canon lore, Sephiroth is drawn toward destruction, Meteor, and Jenova, while Aerith stands as the sole beacon of Holy and the Lifestream. Bianca carrying both opposing-like forces within her body makes her a living bridge between those two absolute extremes.

She isn't an innocent bystander trying to pull him back to the light with naive optimism.

She genuinely understands the dark, destructive pull of the abyss because a Black Materia-like corruption vibrates in her own blood.

Her ability to anchor his sanity at Nibelheim makes total narrative sense. She offers him a way to remain whole because she successfully walks that exact tightrope every day.

Mechanically and narratively, this dynamic elevates her battle scenes beyond simple superpowered fighting. Every time she channels her abilities, there is an immediate cost.

Tapping into Holy (using as symbolic) / Celestial energy: Requires intense focus to filter out her dark corruption, leaving her spiritually drained.

Tapping into Black (using as symbolic) / Demonic energy: Grants catastrophic, life-draining power, but risks letting Jenova's influence or her demonic father's whispers take the wheel.

This transforms her magic into a constant risk-reward calculation, ensuring that even her strongest moments are fraught with psychological suspense.

This parallel gives her character a richer design. I love all OCs, as I often said, but when designing Bianca, I wanted to make her feel alien but able to feel as if she could belong to that world.

The White Ribbon: Acts as her personal "Holy"-like token, a tether given by Sephiroth as an engagement token (since he hates the gaudy engagement ring the PR teams picked out for them) that protects her mind and wards off status ailments/corruption.

Noctemaris & Black Feathers: Represent the dark, destructive Black Materia-like pull of her lineage.
