I’ve been wondering for a while now: what program(s) do you use for writing?
Scrivener 3 for Mac! 😊 I got a discount code to buy it when I won NaNoWriMo a few years ago and I ve been using it ever since. It was about $20.
I absolutely ADORE it and highly recommend it as writing software for any writer. There was a bit of learning curve when I first started using it, but there are some awesome YT tutorials and I don’t use all of the features.
Specifically—
It auto saves.
You can take “snapshots” of your work and have multiple versions in the SAME FILE. 😆
Keep your research notes and images in the SAME FILE for easy reference.
Set word count goals.
Sort things.
Color code things.
Plot with notecards, if that’s your thing.
Look at everything in a top down format.
Rearrange chapters by drag-and-drop, no cut-and-paste needed—again in the same file!!
Compile/export in multiple formats. (I use this to format my novels for publishing).
Write in side by side (two diff docs—or a chapter open on the side for reference!) in the same screen.
And import your word from MS Word.
💕💕💕💕
I LOVE scrivener a lot. I used to just write in MS Word and because I write so much, I’ve crashed word more times than I can count—from large word docs. Scrivener has made writing so much easier for me and I am always trying to get writers to give it a try! 😂😅😎😎
Scrivener also has a cool 30 day trial that works with 30 days of usage—not actual days, so you can take your time trying it out and not worry about getting your work stuck in there, because you have plenty of time to fiddle with it.
And that might be rambly, lol. But yes. Try it!! 😊

Link—if you wanna check them out! They do have a Windows version and their help/support is super nice.
Ooh, do you have any advice or tips? I just downloaded it and am in the process of figuring out how everything works.
