there are just SO many things- even little things- that would DESTORY a person mentally and could very easily make them insane.

and yet- nico di angelo doesn’t appear to be mentally unwell in that way. he’s mentally ill, that’s obvious and made very clear. but he hasn’t lost it in that way.

i wonder what has been keeping him together. by god what has been keeping him going, but what has allowed for him to stay hinged.

Will who stays by him and makes him smile and is one if not the only person to scolded him to be okay

Percy and Annabeth his big siblings who look out for him and will always be there for him

Hazel who is his little sister and looks out for him as much as he looks out for her

Reyna his other big sister who treats him with the respect and admiration he deserves because he’s one of the bravest and most powerful kids she know and will make sure he is okay and put plans on hold to help save him
