sirius being dramatic when finding out about jegulus + very side wolfstar and rosekiller
Sirius strode into the apartment without warning, tossed his keys onto the table with a loud clunk, and took a dramatic bow with a wolffish grin.
âSo, what do you think?â
âOf what?â Regulus asked, deadpanning him, âYour dramatic entrance? Youâre not a vampire, Sirius- also I told you that key was for emergencies only.â
âThis is an emergency.â Sirius glared at him, straightening up, âI need compliments.â
âOh, how out of character for you.â Regulus said sarcastically, stirring his tea with his spoon at the table.
Sirius flipped him off.
âPlease, tell me your thoughts.â Sirius grinned, showing off his new look and flourishing his hair, âHonest opinions only, unless theyâre mean. If theyâre mean, just tell me Iâm pretty instead.â
âYouâre pretty.â Dorcas smirked, and Sirius flipped her off.
Sirius had gone on an impulsive whim this morning after a quiet breakfast with Remus had revealed he quite likes the edgy punk look. And whilst Sirius is well aware how much Remus adores his long hair and pretty rebel boy demeanour, mixining it up for a few months could only mean a bit of fun.
Besides, if the way Remusâ brain seemed to short circuit that time Sirius came home with a septum and a nose piercing meant anything, Sirius is sure the other man would absolutely melt now.
Heâd gotten himself an eyebrow and lip piercing today, as well as an extra three in his ear. It was a painful feat, and Sirius will not admit that he cried and had to be given a lollipop like a child, but he did it.
He also cut his hair short, just below the base of his skull, short wavy locks that no longer frame his face like they once did. And underneath, heâs died it electric blue.
He chopped one of his old metal band tees through the middle for a rough crop, and put Remusâ too big black ripped jeans on, letting them sit low on the waist with a studded belt to keep from pantsing himself. Heâs never really been one for having his briefs stuck up out of his pants, but he happens to be wearing dark blue ones today, and they match.
âI think you look lovely, Sirius.â Pandora smiled over her tea, sitting at the table by Regulus. Out of Regulusâ entire group of friends, Sirius likes her the best. Sheâs always the nicest to him. âVery punk rock.â
âThank you, Pandora.â Sirius smiled.
âI think you look stupid.â Regulus said, because of course he did.
âThank you, Reggie.â Sirius smiled.
âI think you look like me.â Barty said, leaning up against the kitchen counter, one foot on the cabinets behind him for stability.
Sirius furrowed his brow and looked Barty over. And⌠fuck, yeah, he did. Barty was also wearing a messily cropped shirt, briefs that stuck out of the hem of his low baggy sweats, but he usually wears jeans like these when heâs out and about. And his hair is almost identical to Siriusâ, however thereâs green in it rather than blue. And the piercings, heâs got loads of them, skin smothered with tattoos too.
âYou stealing my look, Black?â Barty grinned.
âYeah, Im very attracted to him right now.â Evan, who had his head resting on Bartyâs shoulder, smiled, âYou should go blue, Barty. Its hot.â
âHey.â Barty nudged him in the side and Sirius blushed.
âWell, thank you Evan, however, I am happily committed.â Sirius smiled, taking another little bow, âI suppose I take that as a compliment too, Crouch?â
âObviously.â Crouch snickered, âI feel honoured that the Sirius Black is trying to look more like little old me-â
âThat was an accident.â Sirius pressed, pointing at him, âI just wanted to look cool for Remus.â
âSo you think I look cool?â Barty laughed delightfully.
âThatâll work.â Dorcas grinned, âRemember when Remus and Barry shagged-â
âI donât need a reminder of that!â Sirius shouted as the same time that Barty said, âCas, I told you to stop bringing that up around Evan.â
âOh, so she can bring it up when Iâm not around, huh?â Evan asked with a snake like grin, âDo you like to reminisce when Iâm not there, Barty? Are you unfaithful?â
âNever, dove.â Barty kissed Evans forehead and sent an evil glare Dorcasâ way, âDorcas just likes to stir the pot.â
Dorcas and Pandora giggled to themselves.
âOkay, enough about you lot, more about me.â Sirius interrupted, âOn a scale of one to ten, how much do you think Remus will want to shag me when I get home? Ten being a lot-â
Siriusâ speech was interrupted by someone else letting themselves in through the front door and striding into the house.
âLove, I broke my glasses again, can you please fix them?â Sirius recognised that voice instantly, it was his best friends voice afterall. James walked right past Sirius in the entry way and leant in and smacked a kiss right on Regulusâ lips, âMissed you.â James muttered again, âI know itâs only been three hours, but I always miss you.â
Sirius is feeling a lot of confusion right now.
Regulus sends him a panicked glance over Jamesâ shoulder, and then awkwardly looks up at James with pink cheeks. Sirius takes in the sudden tension in the room, at the way Pandora is sending Sirius a pleading look, at the way Dorcas is biting her lip in anticipation and looking between everyone, at the way Barty is clearly trying his best not to burst out with laughter, and the way that Evan is jabbing an elbow into his side and looking remorseful.
Suddenly Sirius is no longer confused. He feels more betrayed than anything.
James is fucking shagging his baby brother, isnât he?
âOh, Barty, by the way-â James starts but he interrupts himself midway through, âI swear you were just-â James turns and points in Siriusâ direction, and then spins back to Barty, âWhy are there two of you?â
Barty bursts out laughing, âThereâs only one of me, Potter.â
James swings back and forth, looking between them for a moment. And Sirius remembers how genuinely blind James is without his glasses. He usually canât tell Remus and Peter apart when without them, their hair too similar in colour. So Sirius decides to help him out.
âJames.â Sirius prompts when Jamesâ back is to him, and he watches the way the other man immediately stiffens, âAre you snagging my brother?â
Regulus stands and slides Jamesâ glasses onto his face before solemnly petting him on the cheek and sighing, âYouâve been wanting to tell him somehow.â
James slowly turns around, âOh, Sirius, hi! Didnât see you there, wow, new look. Very punk, Remus is sure to love it- hey, why donât we go show Remus now? Yeah, letâs go right there and not talk about anything else-â
âJames.â Sirius prompts again, glaring at him, âAre you, or are you not, shagging my brother.â
âUhm, well⌠shaggingâs quite a vile word, donât you think? I prefer⌠love making-â
Behind him, Regulus groaned and began to bang his head on the cupboard whilst all of his friends lit up with laughter.
âWell, itâs not really, itâs quite lovely.â
Sirius pretends to gag, âHow long?â
âErm⌠bit of an odd question considering itâs your brother.â James shrugged, âBut, usually at least an hour-â
âNo!â Sirius gasped, slapping his hands down over his ears, which hurt due to the new piercings. âI meant you two! How long have you been shagging?â
âOh.â James turned bright red, âYeah, I suppose thatâs more logical. Uhm, maybe⌠like⌠mhghâŚâ
âIâm sorry?â Sirius asked, âMind not mumbling?â
James pulled a wry face and shook his head. Sirius cocked an eyebrow, which also hurt.
Regulus groaned and leant over James, shoulder, âSix and a half month-â
âWhat!â Sirius shrieked, âYouâve been fucking mây brother for six and a half months and havenât told me?!â
âI donât need to tell you all my personal business, Sirius.â Regulus said.
âYeah, but, James does.â Sirius points at him.
âItâs true, I do.â James agreed, âWhich is why Iâm so sorry, Pads. I didnât want to keep it from you, itâs just, we thought we should at first because I know you scared away the last two guys Reggie was involved with. And then⌠and then I just felt bad for lying and so I kept lying and⌠and now weâre here.â
Sirius shook his head at James, âIâm so disappointed in you.â He squinted his eyes, âJust fooling around with my brother like that-â
âWeâre not fooling around, Sirius.â James defended, âWe never were.â
âI donât understand.â Sirius shook his head, âAre you shagging or not?â
James snickered, âLook, I didnât even know I had a crush on Reggie till he kissed me one day, and then I immediately realised I liked him and⌠and well, we started going out. The shagging didnât start till after then.â
Sirius took a little step back, looking them both over.
âItâs genuine, Sirius.â James smiled, putting his arm around Regulusâ shoulders, âI just didnât- I was too scared⌠I was worried you wouldnât approve of me for him.â James shrugged, âBut weâre not just shagging⌠I love him.â
Sirius was taken aback, stuck silent for a moment. James loved him? Regulus was gazing up at James with flushed cheeks and a a smile heâd never seen his brother wear before, and it seemed like Regulus loved him back.
Sirius burst out crying.
James immediately rushed to his aid, making them both sit at the table, two chairs pulled out to face eachother. Regulus groaned and went to put on a new pot of tea.
James took Siriusâ hands, shushing him and looking terribly guilty, âI- Iâm sorry. Iâm sorry, Sirius. Is there something I can do to make it up to you? Is⌠Is there something I can do to make me worthy of him? I canât lose- I canât lose either of you, Iâm so sorry, Sirius.â
Sirius sobbed so hard he couldnât even speak. He shook his head to try and communicate with James, but the message did not go across clearly.
James had started to cry too, âIâm sorry, Sirius. Iâm so sorry, I should have- I know I shouldnât have lied, especially not for so long. But I was so worried- worried about this. I canât-â James sobbed so hard he started hyperventilating, âI donât want to loose- loose-â
âOkay.â Pandora muttered, getting in between them, âLook at me, letâs take some deep breaths. In through the nose, out through the mouth. With me now, come on, in through the nose⌠out through the mouth.â
Sirius and James sat there for a moment, following pandoras instructions. Jamesâ glasses were cracked and foggy, and Sirius was dreading having to reapply his eyeliner for a second time today.
Regulus set some teacups down on the table and poured them each some midnight blue coloured tea, âDoraâs recipe. Supposed to calm you.â
âIâm sorry.â James muttered after taking a big sip of tea, âI donât know what to do, Pads. I canât lose you both.â
Sirius took a few sips himself, taking a moment to compose himself, âYouâre not going too.â He smiled, his eyes begging to water again, âIâm sorry I freaked you out.â
âWhat?â James asked, taken aback, his voice sounded hoarse.
Sirius set his cup down with shaky hands and burst into more tears, but he smiled through them, and they werenât nearly as heavy as before, âYou love him?!â
James sent a nervous glance over at Regulus and tentatively nodded, âAs much as I love you- but, differently, of course.â
That only made Sirius cry harder. He tried to talk again, but all that came out was incoherent nonsense.
âSirius, stop wailing and just talk for Godricks sake.â Regulus scoffed, âOr you can fucking get out of my house.â
Sirius took a deep breath and sniffled, âIâm sorry⌠I just⌠you love him! Reggie deserves to be loved.â
âOh.â James muttered, poking his glasses up his nose. Across the table, Regulus went silent. James smiled and nodded, âYeah, of course he does.â
âAnd you deserve to be loved.â Sirius mumbles.
James snickers, âWell, I hope I do.â
âAnd⌠and you have such a big heart, and love people so⌠so⌠in the best way.â
James smiled and nodded.
âAnd Reggie-â Sirius sobbed more, âHe struggles- but he really loves who he loves with his whole heart.â
Regulus embarrassedly buried his head in his hands and Barty gave him a playful shove.
âOut of everyone in the world, I approve of you both the most for eachother.â Sirius sobbed, âAnd it just makes me so happy that you love eachother!â
There was a moment of silence before James started laughing in that way he does when he really adores something. He reached out and grabbed Siriusâ hands, squeezing them tight.
âIt makes me so fucking happy that you approve.â
âWhy wouldnât I?â Sirius sniffled, âYouâre my best friend, and heâs my brother. Youâre my two favorite people, it only makes sense that you love eachother.â
âDo you mean that?â Regulus asked across the table.
âOf course.â Sirius nodded, reaching over to pet Reggieâs elbow, âAnd when you get married James will be my brother in law-â
âI bloody know!â James grinned, slapping his knee, âHow good will that be?â
Sirius grabbed onto him excitedly.
After a moment, James smiled and wiped at the black smudge from Siriusâ tears, âThis new look got anything to do with Remusâ thing for punks?â
Sirius smiled sheepishly, âDo you think heâll like it?â
âHe liked it enough when you got those nose piercings, heâll probably pass out seing you like this.â
Sirius chuckled.
âCome on, letâs clean you up and get you back home to him.â
Sirius smiled and nodded, âThanks, Prongs.â
When Sirius got home, Remus did in fact malfunction. He couldnât talk proper words for two whole minuets before he pointed to their room and muttered, âBed, now.â And Sirius could never say no to his Moony.

Wow I wrote this at a regular hour in the day, hats off to me. This was inspired by @gaybubblehead and my texts about how they hc sirius goes through a phase where he looks just like Barty in terms of style and stuff and I honestly agree he would do that. I mean they came up with the entire idea of this basically and told me I should write it, and for once I actually delivered. lol
So this oneâs for you my dude <3
It was silly, I started this with barely any direction and just let the story write its self. I should be writing my Christmas fic butttttt no.

The lift dings, and a voice filled with faux cheer announces, âFloor Ten.â
Regulusâ office is on Floor Thirty.
But the kitchen with the special tea? His favorite tea? Well, thatâs on Floor Ten.
He comes down here every day at precisely one oâclock. Itâs after lunch but before his long string of afternoon meetings. For thirty minutes, he can sit in silence. Even his lunch hour isnât sacred; too many people are far too comfortable about walking in to his office to ask him questions.
If his paychecks werenât so damn large, he mightâve quit international law years ago. Heâs twenty-eight going on eighty-five. Last week, he found a single white hair amidst the black of his curls, called Sirius, and proclaimed, âIâm fucking dying. Literally,â to which Sirius replied, âMake sure Iâm in the will. Did you get the reports I emailed to you an hour ago?â
Such is the way, he supposes.
But Floor Ten has the best kitchen with the best tea, and the best part of it all?
Thereâs no one else here.
The only other amenity on Floor Ten is a small gym. Itâs a strange thing to have in a giant office buildingâhalf of which belongs to Regulus and Siriusâ firmâbut itâs there nonetheless. Heâs spent many half hours staring at the equipment through glass walls. Wondering who the hell would exercise at one in the afternoon in the middle of a work day.
Today, it seems, he gets his answer.
Itâs as heâs waiting for his tea to steep, gaze faraway and mind anywhere else but here, that it comes.
Well, not it.
Him.
The man Regulus simultaneously wants to strangle and sleep with.
Maybe at the same time.
He wonât admit to that, of course, because that would mean admitting he finds this manâs face attractive. It would mean admitting he likes the narrow line of his waist and broad set of his shoulders. It would mean admitting his smileâbright as the fucking sunâdoes something to Regulus. It would mean admitting even when he says, âI hate James Potter,â what he really means is, âI want James Potter,â and then his brain will supply the tacked on in my bed bit that inevitably comes with this admission.
The only person who knows is Sirius.
âI hate James,â Regulus had said some months ago.
To which Sirius looked up from his laptop and replied, âI give it six months before you sleep with him.â
As of today, itâs been five months of pining.
Regulus is not proud of this.
James walks into the gym in shorts that are too damn short and a shirt that is too damn tight, and Regulus wants to upend his mug of piping hot tea right over his own head. Canât get white hairs if you donât have any hair follicles at all, he figures.
But then James looks up, curious, undoubtedly aware someone is staring. Looks up and searches, hazel eyes flitting around, then out, and thatâs when his gaze lands on Regulus. Lands and holds, refuses to move as his lips upturn at the corners and oh, Regulus wants to die.
Right here.
Let him perish and become one with the awful vomit-colored carpets.
James raises his handâand waves.
Regulus sets his full mug of tea on the counterâand runs.
//
Floor Ten is no longer sacred after this.
However, thereâs no other time Regulus can make his tea, and there are no other kitchens with his favorite kind. And he checks. Spends a week combing the kitchens of all thirty floors, only to find that Floor Ten is the only place that stocks his special tea.
One day, he tries to take it with him back to Floor Thirty. But when he stands in this kitchen, the entire office is up his ass. Mister Black this and Mister Black that, and he realizes it was a mistake.
So he takes the box to Floor Fifteen, where Remus works. But this is also where Dorcas and Marlene work, and suddenly itâs Regulus this and Reggie, you wouldnât believe that, and he realizes it was a mistake.
After a week of trying new kitchens and new floors and new offices, Regulus finds himself in the lift, hears, âFloor Ten,â and steps out into the hall to find James already exercising. Bronze skin glistens with sweat; his cheeks are flushed, his eyes bright.
Regulus hates him.
He heads for the kitchen, box of tea in hand, and drops it on the counter. He avoids looking towards the gym, though his eyes wander. Heâs never in his life thought I want to lick the sweat from his abs, but he thinks it now, when James does a chin-up and his shirt rides up his midriff on the extension. More golden skin and now a dark trail of hair andâ
James has stopped moving. Heâs suspended, hanging from the barâand watching Regulus with a raised brow.
Fuck.
Regulus turns back to his tea. Why wonât it steep faster? Would it be weird to leave with the mug? Is that too obvious? Heâs burning, face over a thousand degrees, and his suit is too hot, the tie too tight, and he has to admit after that first day he ran, there may be nothing more embarrassing than trying to run again, this time with a full mug of hot water. But he could, if he reallyâ
âRegulus.â
Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck.
âHello, James.â
He stands in the doorway, arms and ankles crossed. Leaning, so comfortable in his own skin. Always charismatic and everything Regulus isnât. Men and women love him, admire him, discuss his absolutely incredible skills as a lawyer. Regulus isnât bad, but he doesnât charm. James, though? He holds the whole courtroom in the palm of his hand the second he opens his mouth to recite his bar number.
âYou havenât come down for a few days,â James observes. âThought maybe I scared you away.â
âYou didnât. Just busy.â
âI see.â
Regulus picks up his mug, still piping hot, and says, âAlright. I have to go back to my office now.â
âSure, sure. See you tomorrow?â
Regulusâ eyes narrow to slits. âWhy?â
âWell, I work out here every day. You drink tea here every day. Our paths will cross.â
âHow do you know I drink tea here every day?â
James grins, crooked. âAh, well. I used to work out at one-thirty. I would pass by and see you here drinking your tea, and I thought, âOh. I wonder ifâ,â but then I would come out and youâd be gone.â
Regulus blinks at him, startled.
âAnyway, have a nice day. Iâll see you in court later?â
âUnfortunately.â
//
They settle into a strange routine.
Regulus comes to Floor Ten at one oâclock each day to find a mug of tea already prepared for him. He sits and drinks in silence until twenty-five minutes past, when James appears glistening with sweat, a bright smile on his face. They talk for five minutes, usually about mundane things, before they go their separate ways.
Regulus doesnât know what to make of it. He and James donât get along. Theyâre not supposed to.
But when he relays this to Sirius, the reply is, âHow long did I say?â
âFor what?â
âFor it to take until you sleep with him.â
Regulus might need to exchange his tea for bleach.
//
Two weeks after their strange routine begins, Regulus comes to the kitchen to find both his prepared tea missing and no tea bags in sight. He frowns at the state of it all, and realizes with some amount of irritation that James has conditioned him. He expected his tea to be here. He expected it to be at the perfect temperature for immediate consumption.
But itâs not.
He looks in every cabinet. Checks the fridge. Even tries the pantry.
Nothing.
Disappointment weighs heavy on his chest, but he tries to push it aside. James might not be at the office today (wrong, because Regulus checked his schedule and he has court at two-thirty), or maybe theyâre all out of tea (also wrong, because Regulus requested it be ordered in bulk), or maybe James has grown tired of this game and moved on to better, more interesting things (plausible).
Regulus steps from the kitchen prepared to spend the next thirty minutes lamenting his lack of special tea.
But stops dead in his tracks.
âWhat the fuck are you doing?â
James blinks at him across the glass wall. In his hands he holds two boxes of Regulusâ favorite tea. âIâm holding your tea hostage,â he declares, as if this explains anything at all.
âI need you to know that those words make no fucking sense.â
âSure they do. Can I make you a deal?â
âCan you give me back my tea?â Regulus canât help the spike of irritation.
Jamesâ smile broadens. He holds up the two boxes and says, âIf you go on a date with me, Iâll give you back your tea.â
Oh, for fuckâs sake.
//
The thing is, Regulus doesnât just go on a date with James.
He goes on a date with him and has fun.
James is irritating but heâs also endearing. His smile is bright, his laugh infectious, and Regulus finds himself enjoying a date for the first time in years. So much so that when it ends, he canât help the twinge of disappointment that dampens his mood. He wants to tuck it away, to act unbothered, but James looks beautiful in an ironed crimson-colored button down and dark jeans. His curls are as neat as he can make them and his eyes shine behind his glasses.
Regulus stands on his front porch and says, âI had a great time,â to which James replies, âSo did I,â and then there is silence.
A beat.
A moment suspended in time wherein neither of them seem sure of the next step.
Until Regulus continues, âDo you want toâ?â and James fumbles out, âCan I kissâ?â and suddenly, thereâs only this tiny universe made of them.
âYes,â Regulus says at the same time James says, âAbsolutely,â and this is how Regulus finds himself tangled in sheets with James Potter, breathy moans and sweet nothings filling every nook and cranny of his bedroom.
After, when Regulus is curled against Jamesâ side with his head on his chest, James tells him, âI stole the tea.â
âMm?â
âThe tea. I stole it.â
Regulus shifts to look at him. âIâm sorry?â
âThe tea you like? I took it out of every kitchen except for the one on Floor Ten.â
âYouâHold on.â Regulus pushes up on his elbow. âYou took the tea?â
Jamesâ fingers drag featherlight strokes up and down Regulusâ back. âI noticed you always took the same kind, so I made sure you couldnât find it anywhere else.â
âHowâHow long?â
âSix months.â
At this, Regulus swings his leg over Jamesâ hip and rides him until the sun comes up.
//
Sirius pokes his head in Regulusâ office the following Monday.
âFive months and twenty-four days.â
Regulus glances up at his brother. âWhat?â
âYour neck is covered in hickeys. James looks like he got mauled by a wild animal over the weekend.â Sirius smacks the wall twice. âFive months and twenty-four days, Reggie. What did I tell ya?â
//
âFloor Ten.â
Regulus steps into the hallway and makes his way to the kitchen. Finds his mug on the table, tea at the perfect temperature for consumption, and he sits. Enjoys the silence until twenty-five minutes past, when he hears footsteps in a cadence heâs come to know.
A smooth voice, affectionate and warm: âHi, baby.â
Regulus bites at the inside of his cheeks to hold back his grin. Fails miserably and replies, a little shy, âHi, James.â

(8/14) prompt: hockey â 868 words (figure skater Reg/hockey player James) @jegulus-microfic
Regulus wasnât a fan of early mornings until he realized thatâs the only way he gets a proper moment of peace at the rink. No cousins there to compete with for perfection, no mother barking insults disguised as coaching. Just him and the ice; the smooth familiarity of his skates, the cold biting against his cheeks, and some time to focus on something thatâs not the whirlwind in his mind.
Heâs a little bit sore today, in ways not entirely regular for him, but heâs pointedly ignoring the why. Honestly, heâs grateful he asked for early access to the rink prior to his official practice. Saves him from wincing through his stretches in front of an audience when the gently throbbing ache in his hips and lower back hit him. Heâs doing a great job at focusing on anything but these reminders while out on the ice.
That is, until thereâs the loud clang of a door banging open and then shut, just as heâs landing his triple lutz.
Regulus huffs irritably and lowers his outstretched leg to join the other foot so he can whip around toward the source of the noise. At first itâs just the vague silhouette of someone; could be one of the opening staff members (he knows in his heart that it isnât). As the person nears the outside of the rink at the opposite end, his inner suspicions are confirmed.
With a scoff, he skates familiarly in another half-lap around the rink. Regulus made sure that he would have plenty of time before the official opening, before any scheduled private practices for the day.
Which means James Potter absolutely should not be here. The hockey practices are in the afternoons and evenings anyway, so it doesnât make sense for him to be around this early.
ExceptâŚ
Regulus purposely takes his time to make his way over to him (and if he makes it a point to land another triple along the way just to show off, thatâs no oneâs business). When Regulus finally lets the glide of his dwindling speed carry him a short distance from the edge of the rink where James is leaning on his forearms, thereâs a lazy grin on Jamesâ face.
âYouâre not supposed to be here,â Regulus says by way of greeting.
âGood morning to you, too, sunshine,â Jamesâ eyes drag down in an all too obvious once-over before returning to Regulusâ face.
He purses his lips tightly, arms folding over his chest. âItâs not open hours yet.â
âGood thing I own the rink, huh?â James toys.
âYour parents own the rink.â Regulus rolls his eyes.
âSemantics.â James waves a hand and stands up so only his hands rest on the wall. âFunny thing happened this morning, you know.â
Grey eyes shift to the side as Regulus sniffs shortly. âI donât care.â
James is unfazed, laughing lightly at his dismissal. âDidnât expect to find myself alone in bed when I woke up after what happened last night.â
Itâs a good thing Regulusâ cheeks are already tinted pink from his skate, it makes the way that he unfortunately blushes less apparent.
âOr that my hockey jersey is missing, for that matter,â James adds. Regulusâ focus snaps back toward him, finding dark brows lifted and a smug smirk curling at Jamesâ lips. âI know you slept in it and all, but Iâm gonna need that back from you, love.â
âI canât stand you,â Regulus huffs; deflecting.
âOh, is that why you let me lay you out like that?â Jamesâ grin widens, turns dangerous and dazzling with the flash of his teeth and mirth in his hazel eyes, when Regulusâ mouth falls open with a soft exhale.
Lifting a hand, James beckons him nearer. Regulus doesnât think his brain and his legs are connected currently, because he moves, closing the couple feet gap to stand directly at the boards in front of him. Without easing back at all, James stays encroached in his space in a way that shouldnât feel as welcome as it does. Thereâs warmth coming off of him that Regulus could sink into, if he let himself, and itâs tempting. Just like last night, itâs so fucking tempting.
He hadnât been good at self-restraint then, either.
James circles a hand around Regulusâ wrist where he holds onto the wall, his thumb sliding beneath the cuff of Regulusâ long sleeve to rub in circles over the knob of bone. Regulus toys his lower lip between his teeth, blinking slowly as his gaze flickers over Jamesâ face so close.
âIâve got a game tonight,â James says, quieter now.
âI donât care,â Regulus repeats, but the vague breathlessness of his tone suggests otherwise.
âMm, I bet.â James squeezes at his wrist once, his lips twitching. âBring me my jersey then stay to watch me play.â
Regulus leans carefully into the wall between them, his own dark curls brushing Jamesâ forehead briefly. âNot interested in hockey.â
âMaybe not,â James muses. He slides both hands up Regulusâ forearms to his elbows then down again, settling over the back of his cold hands and warming them. âYou are interested in me, though.â
And, well. Regulus doesnât have a solid enough denial for that.
look, i LOOOOOVVEEEE the concept in jeggy fics where sirius has no idea about them and stuff, BUT, sirius and james are like ultra codependent besties and they Wouldnât be able to keep a secret from the other if their lives depended on it, sooo⌠here, have this:

sirius body slammed james with full force the minute he stepped into the carriage and saw the smiling boy. he missed him. they had only met a year ago, like, exactly one year ago to this day, in this very carriage, but james was everything to sirius.
they took to eachother immediately, and their friendship only grew into a codependent brotherhood in a matter of weeks.
james knew everything about sirius, and sirius knew everything about james.
summer break without his bestest friend was worse torture than the curses his mother would force him through.
they got settled quickly, chit chatting about the flash new quidditch magazine james had in his hands, and how much longer siriusâ hair had gotten over the break. they were looking out the window, at all the families saying their goodbyes still, and broke out into a fit of giggles when they saw lily getting smothered in kisses by her mother.
âlook, she cut her hair, sirius.â james pointed out with a giddy smile, âdoesnât she look pretty with it like that?â
âyeah.â he mused, leaning over james shoulder since they were sitting right beside each other, âit suits her well i think.â
âi think i might still have a crush on her, but i donât know for sure.â james hummed, looking back at sirius for a moment, âsheâs just so pretty still, but⌠i didnât really think much about her in the holidays.â
âthatâs okay.â sirius shrugged, âshe wasnât the nicest to us anyway, and she spends all that time with snevellious.â
james snorted, âyouâre right. but maybe i still might.â
âwell, if you do, we will just have to rescue her from the slimy gitâŚâ he said, eyes squinting as he looked at lily some more, âmaybe we can convince remus to bring her over. she seems to like him so much.â
james grinned, âi suppose you still have a crush on remus then?â
sirius huffed and flopped backwards in the chair, âitâs terrible james. i wrote him thirteen letters and he only sent me one back!â
âthirteen?â james gasped, turning to look at sirius now, âwhat did his letter say?â
âit said thankyou for the letters, but heâs not good at writing them back⌠the envelope was filled with chocolates.â
âoh, sirius!â james said, âthatâs so sweet.â
âitâs terrible!â he exclaimed, sliding down onto the floor in a dramatic heap, âhe only sent that letter after the tenth one.â
james pulled a wry expression and gently kicked siriusâ dead leg on the floor, âwell⌠itâs not like he didnât want you to send them. remus loves his chocolate.â james gasped, âoh, donât you remember when he told us his mother never buys him very much chocolate. he must have given some up for you, sirius.â
sirius peaked an eye up at him, âdo you think?â
âperhaps.â james smiled, âbut, we still donât know if he likes boys⌠or lily.â
sirius groaned and started to roll around on the floor, âitâs terrible. it makes me want to cry. i think i love him, james!â
âwho do you love?â remusâ roughed up accent filled the carriage as the door was shut behind him.
sirius jumped to his feet in a second, cheeks burning red as he looked at the boy, who had a fresh scar on his neck that made sirius worry about him. but he had new freckles on his cheeks from the summer sun, and a tan, and sirius wanted to give him a kiss.
âno one!â he exclaimed, and remus cocked an eyebrow.
âlimos gregor.â james said with ease, holding up the front page of his magazine, âheâs the new captain-â
âoh, quidditch things.â remus hummed and sat himself down on the opposite side of the cart.
sirius stared at him. for a very long time. long enough for james to pull him by his robes back to his seat.
âi like your⌠tan.â sirius squeaked out as he plunked himself down beside james, he found his cheeks to be even warmer after that.
remus gave him a funny look, but his freckle smattered cheeks seemed to develop a dusky pink colour to them that james gave sirius a suggestive elbow nudge about. sirius cleared his throat and looked to the ground.
âi like your⌠hair.â remus said, awkward, as he often was. his eyes glanced over to james and then he looked out the window and cleared his throat, âyou- it looks pretty- i- erm⌠pretty nice, i mean.â
james nudged siriusâ side again. sirius nudged him back harder.
âth-thanks.â sirius muttered, hanging his head low enough to hide his bashful state behind his hair.
there was a knock at the carriage door. all their eyes turned to see who was sliding open the glass, and sirius let out a disgruntled grumble.
james didnât hear a thing though, his eyes trained on the prettiest boy heâd ever seen. he had dark glossy hair, like siriusâ, but it was short and had pretty curls hanging down over sharp eyes. they were icy, but in the most entrancing of ways. james could look at them for hours, he thought. he was dressed in robes, but they didnât have house colours so james could only assume he was a first year.
james didnât care who this boy was, or the fact that he was supposed to have a crush on lily, or the fact that he didnât even know he liked boys the same way sirius did. he just knew, right then and there, at the first glance, james wanted to marry this boy.
â⌠the legacy.â james managed to catch as his ears tuned back in, it was the boy who spoke, and his voice was as sharp as his eyes.
âhave fun with that.â sirius winked, âitâs not as fun as it sounds.â
the boy rolled his eyes.
âscurry along now.â sirius shooed him, and james had never hated sirius more than he had in this moment because why was he making the pretty boy leave?
âsee you at dinner?â
âpart of me hopes to see you at my table.â sirius grinned.
the boy glared at sirius, and promptly left.
âgodrick.â sirius mumbled, rubbing his forehead, âdonât get a little brother, theyâre torture.â
remus gave an easy laugh, shuffling further up his seat to be across from sirius. but it only clicked in jamesâ head then, the boy, it was regulus. of course, he looked so much like sirius. but, weâll, apparently regulus was just more his type.
oh god. jamesâ head was spinning. he felt a little giddy.
âi think youâre a great big brother.â remus was saying with a sweet smile that had sirius looking as giddy as james felt.
âreally?â he asked back.
âyouâre so good at looking after people.â remus hummed, âyou always bring me chocolate in the hospital.â
sirius was trying to hide a bashful smile again. peter was flinging himself through the door at that moment, and plopped himself down beside remus. he started rambling about muggle cars breaking down and being late.
james was too in his head to process it, his mind void of all but regulus.
regulus black.
reg-u-lus.
regulus.
regulus potter.
james black.
james and regulus.
regulus and james.
botter?
plack?
rames?
⌠jegulus.
he made himself giggle.
sirius nudged his side and gave him a concerned glance over.
âsirius.â he whispered, leaning into his space, âi have something wonderful to tell you.â
sirius grinned and turned to face him, âtell me!â
james glanced over at the other two to make sure their conversation was safe, before he whispered, âi think iâm in love with your brother.â
sirius looked at him blankly, his eyebrow slowly arching up. it was almost comical how slow it was.
âregulus?â
james nodded with a bright smile.
âblimey james.â sirius muttered with a shake of his head, âheâs so annoying. not to mention, probably a slytherin!â
âi donât care. i want to marry him.â james said, and he knew he was gushing. he just had to grab onto sirius and shake him, âheâs just so pretty.â
âiâm going to take that as a compliment.â sirius nodded and poked james in the shoulder, pushing him away, âand the only reason i will allow your terrible tastes- clearly youâve picked the wrong brother⌠is because if you marry him we can be related for real.â
james lit up like a christmas tree.
he spent the entirety of the train ride repeating their names smushed together in his head, and the whole of dinner staring at regulus over on the slytherin table.
he took the first teasing chuckle and nudge from sirius about it in stride, but he didnât get a second like he thought. and then he realised the only reason sirius wasnât teasing james about his love sick state was because sirius had the same dreamy look on his face towards remus.
remus and james black.
an injury prone halfblood boy with anger issues and a rebellious pure blood who spat in the face of purist values just like his parents, chasing after the only two hairs of the noble house of black.
Desperately craving one of those corny ass fics where James gets some sort of (usually sport related) injury for a stupid reason and ends up in the hospital wing. And it's pretty bad but Sirius was able to persuade poppy to let him in to see James bc they were so close. So he's sitting there with James and talking about everything that happened.
But Regulus is Poppy's little assistant (he sort of works as an apprentice or smth) and she sends him over to James to take him the potions he needs to recover. So he takes them over, avoids eye contact, and puts them down on the bedside table, telling him what to drink in which order.
He turns to leave but pauses, turns around, looks James dead in the eye, and gives him a lecture on 'scaring him like that ever again' and he's angry crying and everything. So when he's done James just sits up and holds his arms out for a hug. Obviously Reg does it and then they're being all sweet to each other and making sure they're both okay.
Meanwhile Sirius' brain is malfunctioning 4 metres away.

Imagine itâs right at the height of the war, before James graduates Hogwarts. Regulus oblivates James and himself to ďżźprotect James and because regulus knows he could never live with the memory of having James and not being able to keep him. After the war, they all survive surprisingly because James and the order end up getting anonymous tip with all of the Horcruxes. So flash forward like four years, James and Lily have split up. They realize that they rushed into their marriage because of the war and for harry but thatâs not what either of them wanted and the war has kind of made it to where they donât actually love each other as romantically as they do as a family, so theyâre still best friends and great co parents for Harry. James took over his fatherâs company and shop so he sells potion ingredients and stuff like that as well as also coaching for a local Quidditch team. Regulus comes in one day and they both look at each other with my echo of I know you, youâre home. It was like coming home. However, neither of them actually remember meeting each other and only vaguely remember each other from school. Although, they have the sense that they know one another more than what they already do so they go down the path of re-meeting only to find out when all of the memories surged back because Remus accidentally gets into an argument with Sirius because they both knew about their relationship, even if it was â secretâ which leads to both James and Regulus, overhearing it, and finding out that they had been together at one point, this breaksJames heart, but I think it would be cute to have like them re-falling in love with each other then interrupted by memory of their first time falling for each other, and thereâs like subtle parallels between the two, and itâs almost like an every life, they were always meant to fall in love for each other no matter how many times they have been separated, no matter how many lives, they always end up back to each other.
Transmasc!James who hasnât told a single person outside of his family, not even Sirius knows until he begins to live with the Potters. It got sorted out at Hogwarts so no one would ever know, and it wouldnât get figured out, he would just be James. No one knew what was in the past. James had always been James. No one could ever figure it out.
Ideally.
Jamesâ whole perfect set up seemingly crumbled to the ground after a Quidditch game against slytherin that ended too quickly and resulted in an overall win, but didnât really commemorate toward the House Cup due to lack of points and a too-quick catch of the Snitch. James was eager, sue him.
He was alone in the locker room, as usual, as he always waited for the rest of his team to exit before even beginning to change. He had been in the middle of changing when Regulus barged in, clearly in the wrong locker room.
Dread was barely enough to explain the way James felt, yanking his robes to his chest to hopefully cover the dark crimson binder that constricted his chest. Regulus noticed it. Of course he did. He was too observant not too.
Regulus wasnât stupid. It clicked awfully quick for him, and then how drastic this must feel for James hit him like a brick. Eyes widening, he made quick work of an exit, huffing out an apology.
James nearly cried that night, and decided confronting Regulus would be the best option.
So he managed to find the younger before Quidditch practice, tugging him into a random empty classroom.
âWhat, Potter?â Regulus asked with slight annoyance at being disrupted. James swallowed.
âYesterday. About yesterday.â It clicked in Regulusâ head what James was getting at. Regulus blinked up at the brunet. âCan you notâŚtell anyone? Like- please? I just-â
âThat I walked into the wrong changing room? Potter, why in the world would I tell anyone that?â Regulus quickly covered, shaking his head in mock annoyance. James blinked. He wasnât stupid. He knew Regulus knew. He also knew Regulus was obviously already denying the concept. A warm smile spread across Jamesâ face, one that made Regulusâ heart skip.
âThank you, Regulus.â
âSure, Potter. Sure.â Regulus left the classroom as quickly as possible, desperately attempting to shake the feeling in his chest.
Months passed, and with each one, James and Regulus grew closer. It wasnât intentional at first, James would beg to be Lilyâs plus one to Slughornâs Slug Club parties, and Regulus was a part of them, and who could really blame James for gawking at Regulus when he first saw him in dress clothes. Theyâd talk at the parties, more words being spoken at each one until they started hanging out outside of these things; sneaking up to the Astronomy tower at night, huddling under Jamesâ invisibility cloak as they searched the castle for places to just hang out without the chance of being caught.
Until one day, James trudges into breakfast looking like fresh hell, and barely speaks to any of his friends. As if knowing this was a monthly occurrence, none of his friends even batted an eye at the mood shift. Sirius even continued on like nothing was different. Regulus had noted this during prior months, but didnât care as much as he did now.
Again, Regulus wasnât stupid. He could put two and two together.
So after James rejects Regulusâ offer to hang out after practice, James is wholly shocked to find a pile of items sitting on his bed when he enters the guysâ dorm that night. Peter and Remus had already knocked out, it being so close to a full moon that Remus was too exhausted to even bother going to Sirius and Jamesâ practice. Sirius was too clingy to notice it, crawling into bed with Remus almost instantly.
James, on the other hand, was gentle with his random gifts as he examined them. On his bed sat a dark green blanket and a small box with a note placed atop it. He unfolded the note gingerly, smiling stupidly at Regulusâ neat handwriting.
My sun,
The blanket has a heating charm on it for you, and the box has some chocolate frogs and also chocolate from the kitchen. I had a House elf deliver it for me. I hope you feel better.
-R.A.B.
James couldnât help the grin that plastered over his face. He sunk into the bed, positioning himself with the new blanket and popping a piece of chocolate into his mouth.
The next morning, Regulus was hit in the temple with a paper airplane. He gave an irate glance toward the origin before melting at Jamesâ goofy grin. He neatly unfolded the parchment, smiling at the messily scrawled out âthank you I luv yaâ in still wet ink.
Everyone knowing about Jegulus but thinking Sirius doesn't know and trying really hard to keep it from him
Sirius being the first one to know about them and stressing everybody out by pretending to be clueless and saying shit like 'I noticed James and my brother in the same room on the map yesterday, what do you think that was about?' And everyone RUSHES to find excuses
Meanwhile james is there like đ¤ because he knows Sirius knows
I do believe that Sirius was the first one to know
Not because Reggie is his brother Or James is his best friend and he knows them whiteout them needing to say anything
But because James would go to him with his crush and scream about every little smile reg gave him and Sirius would be the one who actually helped them get together
