Realizes there are very few pictures of Norman Reedus on horseback as Norman Reedus is afraid of horses. (see Sean Patrick Flanery for further details.)

Pads original ‘Norman Reedus on Horseback’ post with gratuitous pictures of the Irish countryside and Norman Reedus in period dress.

Considers writing to Norman Reedus’s agent to encourage getting him more period roles that involve horseback riding a) so that we may all enjoy the pretty, and b) so that I may continue to pester chestertonsfence for said period AU Caryl fic by bribing her with pictures of Norman Reedus on horseback.

It is with great excitement we launch CarylBYOB officially today with the declaration that this year’s charity is SCAN.

SCAN are a charity based in Virginia with the mission statement: Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of Northern Virginia is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the well-being of children, improve parent-child relations and prevent child abuse and neglect

We have chosen this charity in order to pay tribute to Sam Anderson, who sadly knew all too well about an abusive home in his short life. Of course, it is also in tribute to Sophia Peletier who too grew up in an unsafe environment.

SCAN offer help by:

EDUCATING the community about the scope, nature and consequences of child abuse and neglect and the importance of positive, nurturing parenting; PROVIDING direct parent education; & ADVOCATING for children in the community, the legislature and the courts.

So, now we have the charity, what do we do?

Well, as with the first CarylBYOB we will be fundraising around a Carol-centric episode.This year that episode will be Episode 13, airing on March 13 2016.

We know this episode is Carol-centric, and we know we’re going to have out hearts in our mouths throughout it. 

So how CarylBYOB works is you donate the amount you would normally spend on booze, ice-cream, tissues or therapy bills to get you through a traumatic episode of Walking Dead.
