It's not that Five is "obsessed with the apocalypse". He's not a junkie chasing an adrenaline high of danger. It's just that the public's shared hallucinogenic memory of a timeline that shouldn't exist is weird, and so are the cross-dimensional artifacts, and so are the fully formed human beings that keep falling into Five's lap. Figuratively. "Okay, man, just think about it," Diego interjects, loudly, pointing at Five with the mouth of his bottle. "Remaking the world's gotta be a messy process. It's not that surprising that there's just some weird cracks, a few spots that Dad didn't get super well. It's not a big deal." "Just some weird cracks, he says," Five says dryly. "'Some weird cracks', like the man squatting in my apartment. The man I found unconscious in an alleyway with no memories. Weird cracks like those?" Said man grins and waves a hand cheerfully, his inhuman orange eyes glowing eerily in the bright morning light. When nobody waves back, he reaches his hand to awkwardly paw at the feathery hair at the nape of his neck. His smile goes from cheery to awkward, and he whines, "You act like it's my fault, or something!"

this applies ^ if we are going with the Rule Of Law regarding our government . However if the Rule Of Law that we’re analyzing the characters by is their father’s:

diego: chaotic good

allison: neutral evil

klaus: chaotic neutral

five: chaotic evil

umbrella ben: chaotic good

sparrow ben: lawful evil

the second word refers to their… moral alignment, essentially. “good” and “evil” are self explanatory I feel, but having neutral for the second word essentially means that they aren’t beholden to any moral code except their own. they aren’t trying to be good, or doing heinous things to do heinous things, but are rather doing whatever serves them.

so chaotic good is someone who breaks the laws to do good things; a Robin Hood archetype. lawful good is someone who follows the laws and tries to do good within the system they’re in. true neutral is someone who’s entirely self-serving, who breaks the laws if they need to and will do bad things if they must. chaotic neutral is a character who Actively Chooses to break laws/rules in order to do said self-serving. It’s an alignment of ruthlessness.
