CHARACTER INTRODUCTIONS

WHO IS LENA RIPLEY? Lena Ripley doesn't really know who she is. Her parents split up when she was only a couple months old, and she rarely ever sees her father. She's moved around to about a million different places in her sixteen years of life, never really having had the chance to settle down and make herself comfortable. She'd begun to take on the role of the superficial party girl, the one everyone knew was a means to an end. Of course, for her, this had detrimental side effects. She became an avoidant girl with a knack for alcohol consumption, needing to be saved but not wanting it either. When her mother meets a new man, Lucas Peterson, she's not hopeful. But it lasts. And they get married. And soon she's moving to some town called Ridgewood, a place that reeks of money. She wasn't expecting much. She certainly wasn't expecting her entire life to change.

WHO IS ADRIAN GRANT? Adrian Grant is a football star, the type that's always the talk of the town on the local radio station. Every Friday night, the stadium lights shine down on him and supporters are there shouting his name. Now, he's never doubted his ability. He's been playing since he could tie his own shoes, how could he mess up? But suddenly, everything changes for him. Every Thursday night into Friday morning, he gets hit with the most crippling anxiety he's ever felt. He begins to perform poorly, and everyone begins to notice. He can't identify the hole he's dug himself into or why. He's always had his goals set on becoming an NFL star. When his father was alive, they'd spend every waking minute together running drills, throwing the ball back and forth, running the track, lifting weights. Adrian couldn't just give up. He had to push forward.

WHO IS CALLUM POWELL? Callum Powell doesn't have much going for him. Seriously. He's an outcast with both daddy issues and a knack for solving conflicts with his fists. He's become best friends with the bag of frozen peas in his freezer. Ironically, he hates peas. When his family decided that maybe he needed a change of pace from the large school he'd been attending, they packed him up and moved him to a small little nowhere town called Ridgewood. Did this help? Maybe. Only because he met a shy, timid, anxious girl that he couldn't help but be curious about. And he fell in deep as soon as he heard her name was Abigail.

WHO IS ABIGAIL HALL? Abigail Hall is paranoid. Her mother was abducted when Abigail was just three years old. While she has no memory of the event, her poor father relives the memory every day. He keeps her locked up in the house, never lets her go out with friends or even take a walk around the neighboorhood by herself. Everything she does is monitored; right down to the shows she's allowed to watch on television. She's the weird girl, the one nobody really wants to talk to after she's been nothing but silent for the eleven years she's attended school at Ridgewood. Everybody knows her story, but nobody knows her. The thing she yearns for most in the world is a friend, but she's slowly losing hope that everything really will turn out okay like she used to believe.
