So like Mouthwashing, did it like trigger anyone’s memories?
Because it did for me simply because of the fact that Jimmy, Anya and Curly display signs of affects that also effected me.
Like Curly’s anxiety attack when going to the cockpit or him not fully being in tune during the psych evaluation.
Jimmy yelling, slamming his hand on the table, yelling at Anya, then getting close and invading space/scaring her and begrudgingly apologizing. He really doesn’t see her as human.
Anya hiding the gun, hiding away from Jimmy every time or after they finish a conversation, or locking herself in the medbay and dying.
This stuff isn’t uncommon it just feels like that because its in space but this is real! This happens in a house, Jimmy is literally the typical monster who pretends to be a man, a friend, a family member.
Curly is the one who deals with the verbal abuse, hears about the abuse happening to others and either tries to do something or they freeze and inadvertently let it go on.
Anya is the one who faces the physical abuse, goes to others for help and is simply not helped.
Her story is so common and well known that to us we try to find ways to help her because most of us are projecting. Wishing that someone would’ve saved us like how no one saved her or us.
Makes me sad, it genuinely makes me feel sad.
Daisuke is the youth who gets manipulated, by the monster.
Swansea is the one who sees the monster for who it is and inadvertently does nothing until he realizes how far too late he is.
This sounds like a family, this sounds like a family, a group of friends or a work place on earth. In irl…and each story sounds common, different and either unheard of because of the victims being silenced or dead.
Sometimes I wondered if my monster was planning to hurt me one day, and other times I wondered why and how no one saw the signs. And why I was too afraid or cowardly with protecting my sister.
Sometimes when I try to remember good memories it’s so blank and hazy that I simply maladaptive dream to cope.
I’ve never felt so invested in a game like Mouthwashing to the point to where I vividly remember something that made me curl up in bed and make me wish I could forget.
