I’ve gotta say, this guy had some serious guts.
Firstly, he had the nerve to go after Sasuke Uchiha’s daughter. I mean, THE Sasuke Uchiha’s daughter. That alone is very commendable. Utterly stupid, but commendable nonetheless:
And when his initial attack was blocked by Sasuke’s close friend, THE 7th Hokage, Shin thought it wise to engage Sasuke in combat:
Now, even though it was revealed that at this point, Sasuke was fighting whilst severely weakened due to the constant traveling between dimensions consuming most of his chakra…
He still proved to be more than Shin could handle by himself, and Shin was forced to sacrifice his subordinate in order to avoid getting burnt to a crisp.
Just observe the “I’m gonna break every bone in your body” look that Sasuke gives Shin for having the sheer audacity to even think of going after his daughter.
Here, Shin is thinking of how impressive Sasuke’s ocular powers are, blissfully unaware that they’ve been severely weakened, but Naruto knows what’s up, he knows that Sasuke has only scratched the surface of his abilities.
So in order to gain the upper hand, Shin uses his own ocular powers to his advantage, because his opponents were still unaware of his capabilities. He uses this to deploy a dirty tactic, and attack Sarada once more, thereby catching Sasuke off guard:
An underhanded tactic, no doubt, but all’s fair in love and war, and it paid huge dividends, as Sasuke was forced to protect his daughter with his own body, therefore getting stabbed by multiple of Shin’s chakra infused weapons which caused paralysis:
Shin seemed to think that at this point, he had the fight won…
But he didn’t anticipate the wife and mother getting involved…
And Shin learnt the hard way that Sakura Uchiha is very protective of her family. If anyone were to lay hands on her beloved husband or daughter, she’d come for them, and do very, very bad things to them… Shin wasn’t exempt from this…
This, for me, is the joint fiercest and scariest look anyone has ever displayed in the whole series, and it came from Sakura, because someone was threatening the safety of her family. That speaks volumes.
The only other look that I think matches this one in terms of fierceness and sheer intensity, came from Tsunade, and notice how their eyes are exactly the same; Sakura truly is Tsunade’s student:
So anyway, after ONE punch…
Shin was left completely incapacitated…
But despite this, he still opted to kidnap the person who only moments earlier, had nearly ended his life with a single blow. This guy really does, have some serious guts…
And if that wasn’t enough, he then had the gall to ask her to help him with the transplant! Here Shin was, on all but his death bed (which Sakura effectively placed him on), and he was still talking big! His confidence is truly worth praise and admiration.
So when the self surgery was completed, Shin resumed his battle with Sakura, knowing full well that one more direct attack from her would probably put him down for good this time around. However, he still fought her, because he figured that much like earlier with Sasuke and Naruto, he could use Sakura’s ignorance of his abilities to his advantage, and it seemed to work because Sakura was hit by two of his weapons, which caused her much surprise when they began restricting her movements…
But it would seem that Shin didn’t learn the lesson, of what happens to those who go after a member of the Uchiha family…
Earlier, Sasuke had given Shin a warning by glaring at him with the “I’m gonna break every bone in your body” look, but Shin didn’t heed the warning. So then moments later, Sakura gave him a second warning by glaring at him with the fearsome “Touch my family again, and I’ll do MUCH more than just rupture your internal organs” look, and yet Shin still didn’t heed the warning. Therefore, Sasuke kept his earlier promise, and with his eye powers now restored, he effortlessly broke every bone in Shin’s body:
He then proceeded to dispose of the chakra infused weapons, and check on his wife to make sure that she was alright:
And their daughter approved of the care and sincere affection that was displayed between the two of them.
After all that had transpired thus far, you’d think that Shin would finally learn his lesson, and stop going after the Uchiha family, but nope. He still opted to try and kidnap Sarada, again. Even after his internal organs had been ruptured with one punch by Sakura… Even after every bone in his body had been crushed by Sasuke, he STILL didn’t give up.
This guy had some serious guts…
Thankfully, Sasuke and Sarada weren’t gonna take any more of Shin’s shit…
And Sarada swiftly ensured that Shin wasn’t gonna be using any more of that annoyingly convenient space-time teleportation jutsu:
Shin definitely had a “Never give up” attitude that Naruto would be proud of. With hindsight, he probably should have given up as soon as Sasuke gave him that warning glare in chapter 6, lol. However, his determination was certainly admirable. Stupid, but admirable XD
But Shin, just so you know…
If you had succeeded in capturing Sarada, in your utterly broken state…
This is what you had to look forward to…
