He was so sick for so long and its a miracle he lasted long enough for you to understand what he needed to survive and build an enclosure for him to survive in

It look a lot of scientist and doctors but he’s healthy and happy, you took careful work to make his enclosure as enriching as possible and he seems genuinely happy!!

Then one day, this fucking thing washes ashore. It’s nasty and putrid, but still you want to study it.

There is something that is at the very least VERY similar to your squishy alien friend.

Your alien friend is excited, he wants to see the human or kinda human thing he wants to talk to them

But it’s covered in fucking ooze, you dont know what diseases it could bring in! Your squishy alien friend JUST got better!!!

But no, squishy alien is clawing at the walls of his enclosure he hasn’t had actual full human contact in years

You forgot your alien friend is an extremely social creature and physical contact is super important to them

Either he didn't feel the need to not even once (plausible)

Or found a way to block Rocky's echolocation with a material to get some privacy (unlikely)

Or he did it, Rocky saw and they never spoke about it (VERY unlikely, Rocky too curious)
