It's a texture and appearance difference. Typically you shake citrus based cocktails as they're cloudy and the ice shards that slip through the straining process are more pleasant in sweeter drinks. To shake a martini is the make it cloudy and textured when it should be a perfectly clear, smooth, and elegant drink. The only autism involved is having an obsession with slurping ice and spreading that obsession to thousands of smooth brains ordering drinks.

It's not bruising, it's dilution from the ice. You can dry shake gin till your heart's content, let it settle and it'll taste the same. Same with any other liquor. I may be semantic here, but I've known bartenders with slow and limp wristed shakes because they associated "bruising" with force. This results in either an insufficiently mixed drink, or a watered down one.

I like everything on this list except maybe nutella. Nutella is mid.
