“I wanna show mama the color!” Luc whined, managing to bang the paint can into the wall a few more times before Yeza reached him.  And even when his father was at his side, Luc would not relent.  He ran across the room to get away, dragging the can behind him. Once he reached the corner of his room, Luc tried to lift the can up as high as he could and smash it into the wall again or maybe drop it onto the floor, Veth couldn’t quite understand he son’s strategy.  But all of the prying and jostling and banging did seem to have an effect on the paint can lid.  As Luc tried to grasp the big can and lift it up, his little hands slipped, the can tipped, and his whole front was covered in a thick layer of green paint. Luc gasped and looked down at himself, the paint can clattering to the floor.  After a moment he turned to Veth with a huge grin spreading across his face.  “Look, mama!  It’s pretty!” Veth had to suppress a giggle as she surveyed the scene in front of her.  Yeza looked so frazzled and little Luc so happy and covered from head toe in paint.  And Veth did have to admit that it was a pretty color.  A light sage green.  Very calming but still bright. Veth choked back another wave of giggles and schooled her face into a serious motherly expression.  “Luc!” she said, hands on her hips.  “You do not run away from daddy and you do not spill paint all over our new house.  You need to apologize to daddy and then we need to get you back to the Chateau for a bath.” “Sorry daddy.” Luc mumbled, looking a bit dejected as he shuffled his way other to Veth. Veth sighed and knelt down to Luc’s level, gently cupping his chin and tilting his face to look at her.  “Thank you” she said with a smile. “And that is a very nice green.  But I think it will look much better on the walls than all over silly little boys.”  Luc blushed and fidgeted, but Veth could see the flicker of a smile creep back into his expression.   “Come on, huns buns” Veth said, straightening back up and glancing to Yeza.  “Let’s get this little paint monster all cleaned up.  And then maybe you and I can come back over and check out our room.”

Veth shook her head and chuckled to herself as she followed her two boys, now both covered in paint, back to the Chateau.  She really was a lucky woman. Once Luc and Yeza were both bathed and paint free and Luc was settled down for some quiet time with Marion (they were making beaded necklaces), Veth and Yeza headed back over to the new house.  Veth was pretty sure that Yeza didn’t actually need a full bath, but Luc had proclaimed that he wanted to take a bath with daddy and Veth had to admit that getting to watch Luc pile soap bubbles on his father’s head was adorable. She smiled as they entered their new house.  The feeling in the space was fresh and new and even a little exciting.  She turned to Yeza and, before he could say anything, she pressed her lips to his and gave him a proper kiss.  It was long and deep and a little sloppy and exactly what she needed.  After a few moments she pulled back, breathless and flushed. “So,” she said “Where do we start the tour?”

Veth quick followed Yeza up the stairs, pinching his adorable little butt as she came up behind him. “Okay.  All this house planning domesticity talk is actually kind of turning me on.      Oh my gods, do I have a trophy husband?  Yeah I do!  A trophy husband who can make acids and black powder and…”Veth cut herself short, wrapping her arms around her husband and kissing him again.   She broke away and stepped through the doorway to their room, pulling Yeza along with her.  “We have time to figure everything out,” she said, squeezing his hand.  “Now” she continued with a sexy smirk, “aren’t you going to give me a tour of this fine bedroom?”

Veth giggled as Yeza buried his red face in her chest.  His curly hair tickled. “I’m just very good at setting traps,” she said, squeezing Yeza tightly before releasing her grip. “and you’re very good at getting caught in them.” She reached down and gently tilted Yeza’s chin up so she could look at him properly.  “And thank you.  You know how to make me feel lovely.” She bent down and kissed his beet red cheek and his other cheek and his nose for good measure. “Now!” she exclaimed, straightening up and taking Yeza with her.  “Let’s dry off.  But, like, let’s be luxurious about it.  We could just lay in a sunbeam and eat chocolate covered strawberries and drink champagne….”

Veth made her way back to the bedroom, carrying Yeza in her arms.  Once they got through the doorway she set him down and made her way over to the bed. “We don’t need those things.  We just need a champagne attitude!” Veth exclaimed, gathering up the sheets and pillows off the bed and taking them to a corner of the room where sunlight streamed in through a window.  She threw the bedding down onto the floor in the puddle of sunlight. She took a few moments to rearrange the blankets and pillows and once everything was situated to her liking, she laid herself down and turned to Yeza.  “Come here and luxuriate with me, baby.”

@chemistyeza Veth had been excited when Yeza first approached her with a blindfold.  But instead of leading her into the bedroom he had walked her carefully through the halls of the Lavish Chateau, down several flights stairs, and now she was pretty sure they were outside.  And then Luc was at her side! Luc was giggling, Yeza was shushing him, they were all walking down the street, and Veth was thoroughly confused.   After a few minutes (and a few blind stumbles on the cobblestones) they stopped.  Yeza and Luc were whispering excitedly to each other and Veth thought she heard the jingle of keys and a squeaky hinge as a door just in front of her was opened. “This way, mama!” Luc said as he took her hand and guided her though a doorway.  Once they she was over the threshold Veth felt Yeza’s warm hand on her shoulder, a small peck on the cheek, and then the blindfold was removed. She was standing in a small house, a cottage really.  The front windows looked out on a quiet street and the beach just beyond that.  She could see the main room where she and Yeza and Luc were standing, and through a doorway she saw a small kitchen and a flight of stairs that lead to the second floor. Everything appeared to be halfling sized…except for the large plush velvet sofa in the main room….the sofa Luc was currently jumping on.

Veth just looked around wide-eyed, wandering around the big main room, taking it all in.  The mahogany dining table was a little oversized, and the bookshelf in the corner didn’t match any of the decor, but when had anything in Veth’s life been prefect? “You bought a house…” she whispered under her breath, popping her head into the kitchen before circling back to join Yeza and Luc by the big couch. “You bought a house.” she said again, a huge smile breaking across her face like a wave.  She kissed Yeza, full and deep and joyful, before pulling back and turning to Luc. “You picked out this house, didn’t you Luc?” Veth made her way over to the couch and scooped Luc up into her arms. “Daddy helped.” Luc answered, blushing.  He and giggled and squirmed, but didn’t pull away as Veth peppered him all over with kisses.  Finally she let him down and he straightened up, still brimming with excitement. He grabbed her hand again and tugged her out of the main room, toward the stairs.  “Come on, Mama!” He urged “I wanna show you my bedroom!” “I’d love to see!” Veth exclaimed, letting her son pull her up the stairs.  “Daddy said that Miss Marion gave us some nice big beds.” she added, glancing over her shoulder to wink at Yeza.

The moment they reached the top of the stairs Luc let go of Veth’s hand and darted into a room to the left. “Mama! Mama!  This one is my room!  Come see!  Come see!” Luc exclaimed, sticking his head out of the door and beckoning Veth over. Veth smiled and stood in the doorway watching Luc dash around his new room.  There was a mattress on the floor in middle of the room, probably the perfect size for a human or tiefling child but for Luc it would be giant.  There was also some other furniture covered with tarp and a few paint cans scattered around. “This is gonna be the bed” Luc said, rattling several heavy wooden pieces that Veth assumed were the parts of a disassembled bed frame.  “Daddy said he’d put it together when the walls are painted.  But it’s really big….maybe Bluud will come over and put it together!  And Mama!  I’m gonna paint my room green.  Daddy got all funny when I said I wanted green but he helped me pick a good one.” Luc continued, plopping down in front of one of the paint cans and trying to pry the lid off.  When he realized he couldn’t get the lid loose with his bare hands he began hunting around the room for something he could use to pry the lid off. Veth leaned against the doorway, smiling, just enjoying seeing her son so happy and at home.  When she felt Yeza sidle up next to her she reached over and slid her hand into his.  “Thank you.  This really is the best surprise.  We have a home now.  It’s wonderful…Yeza,” she turned her head to look at him. “I haven’t had a home in over two years.  I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to be with you and Luc again.  Even after I found you again I wasn’t sure you’d want me to stay.  But you did.  And…and even though I’m bringing so much chaos into your life, you still want me. And you made us home!  A brand new home!  You really are the best husband.”  She squeezed his hand, blinking away tears.  “And I’m looking forward to getting to spend some time in our new bedroom.” She added, blinking away the last of the mistiness and giving Yeza a mischievous grin. A loud THUNK pulled her attention back to Luc’s bedroom.  Luc had given up his search for a tool to remove the paint can lid and had now resorted to banging the can against a wall in an effort to dislodge the lid.

“Eight to ten days, hmm?  I guess we have time to try all kinds of things.  Anything you’re curious about, no rush” Veth mused as she settled herself behind Yeza on the chair, running her fingers through his hair.  She liked his hair long like this.  Maybe once he’d change back she’d ask him to grow it out.  No…that wouldn’t do…he’d use it as an excuse to grow out his sideburns and then he’d just have crazy hair all over and it would probably catch fire in the lab and it would be a whole mess. “Not gonna let that happen…” Veth grumbled to herself as she separated Yeza’s hair into three sections and began to weave them together.  “There we go!” She exclaimed, securing Yeza’s braid with a red ribbon she’d found in her pocket. “Let’s get you to a mirror so you can have a look!  OH!  Have you even looked in a mirror yet?  You’re so pretty you need to see yourself!  ….I think…umm…Yeah!  The big one in the bedroom!  Let’s go see.” Veth wiggled in excitement as she hopped up out of the chair and offered her arm to Yeza.  “Right this way, Miss.  …oh…um…is it okay if I say that?  I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable, you’re still my husband.”
