@cheimonas liked for a starter!
There was an unnatural chill in the air today, but Aithne wasn’t worried. The approaching aura was familiar, in both its chill and gentle nature. It had been years, after all, since she had felt it, faint as it was.
The winter maiden. Aithne hadn’t seen the woman since her younger years, fresh after the razing of Tir ‘anan, and the death of her grandmother and mother. She hadn’t even known the woman all that well, sparse as their interactions had been through the haze of guilt guilt anger grief Aithne had worn like a shroud.
“Lady Shebani,” Aithne says, turning around. “It’s been years.”
Truth be told, Eirlys hadn’t expected to meet with one of her fellow maidens for a much longer time. It was rather rare for anyone to meet with them, no less for two to meet without prior planning. But here she was, one of the winter maiden’s peers.
Like the other, the first thing she had noticed was that all too familiar aura. But as soon as she could feel it, she had made her way to the other maiden as quickly and calmly as she could. After all she had been through for the last couple of days, she needed a familiar face around, even if it was one that she rarely saw.
“Ah... So my intuition was correct. It’s a pleasure to see you once again, Lady Carmine. I hope all has been well.”
