After all, the people who got their wishes granted in those stories ended up miserable. I don't want to become miserable." "There are things I don't want, and things I do want… If I wish for the opposite of a tragedy, will it become a happy story? I didn't know the answer."

"Kyubey": "And, we can't get Grief Seeds without defeating them." "Do you remember what I told you about Grief Seeds?"

"Nagisa": "You need them to restore magic, right?"

"Kyubey": "That's right." "Magical Girls fight Witches to save people's lives and prevent destruction." "Getting Grief Seeds is one of their other main objectives."

"Nagisa": "I know they have to get Grief Seeds." "That I understand." "But why do I have to save other people on top of that?"

"Kyubey": "Humans who aren't Magical Girls can't defend themselves from Witches." "If Magical Girls didn't fight Witches…" "Many people would be completely helpless against them."

"Inui Itsumi": "You make contracts with girls that young, too?"

"Kyubey": "Yes, she is young." "That's why I was hoping you could help guide her once she makes a contract." "As a fellow Magical Girl, you'd be a better teacher than me." "That's why I wanted you to meet her today."

"Inui Itsumi": "Are you serious?" "A child that young, becoming a Magical Girl?!" "She'll die right away!"

"Kyubey": "I'm not picking on you. I give warnings to others, too." "But you're definitely the reason I'm in a rush to recruit Nagisa Momoe." "That fact is undisputed." "You're neglecting your duties as a Magical Girl." "You also need to be careful not to run out of Grief Seeds." "You need to hunt more Witches."

"Inui Itsumi": "That's enough!" "More importantly, have you looked into who the ghost is targeting?" "Do you know who they are?"
